The Lone Figure in the Tavern: An APC Guild Short Story

The last round of guard patrol for the eleventh hour of the evening had just passed the Tindrem tavern's entrance, and another squad took its place like clockwork. Inside the tavern, patrons are getting up to leave or finishing their drinks. The tavern keeper is wiping mugs and cleaning up...

Evolving Myrland Spider Castes, A Lore and Gameplay Suggestion with Real-World Examples

Having non-consensual PvP also brings political considerations into the picture. In the same example above, suppose that you knew the guild leadership and are on good terms with them. They may grant you safe passage through their lands, or even send a contingent of their own to escort you...

The new rep change is crazy

Reminds me of a now-dead mmorpg that started out by marketing itself as a return to the old glory days of pre-Trammel Ultima Online, and heaps of UO fans flocked to it. Then, just before release, it completely changed course and gave some weird reasoning that made no sense. That one decision...

Evolving Myrland Spider Castes, A Lore and Gameplay Suggestion with Real-World Examples

I would be happy to see the invasion spawn system be applied to other creatures and humanoid mobs like the bandits, undead, and such, but expanded to have their own faction system and thematic behaviours. Have them be hostile to diametrically opposed creatures, like a bandit might be hostile to...

The REAL issue with this game...

Yes, I remember playing the arms race game with the thieves in town back in MO1, which I enjoyed. I'm just hoping SV won't ditch thievery altogether because of who knows what reasons.

The REAL issue with this game...

I have an uneasy feeling that SV may not want thievery in the game for all time, despite some 63 percent of the community wanting it. The reason may be that they want towns to be a place where players won't have to worry about danger and risk so much. Given that thieves operate mainly in town...

A MMORPG I would love to see modernized.

There's an indie project called Shards of Britannia that recreated the old UO experience, with some custom features of their own:

Have you considered adding more NPC towns? In this way content is more accessible.

I like the idea. Would make long distance travel a bit more manageable, especially if you need to log off in the middle of nowhere for whatever reason.

This Game could go on forever like UO. Some feedback and suggestions.

A lot of good ideas here. Some or all of them have been suggested by others in the community at one time or another. The upcoming Reckoning expansion will hopefully address some of your ideas, like the non-player insectoid hive-mind swarm that slowly grows dynamically until it becomes a...

    Player made quests.

They need to bring in town boards where people can post quests using drop-down menus and number input fields that will then turn that into text. Like, let's say, I need a full stack of saburra, so I select Saburra Pile, and enter 10,000 units, collect from Meduli, and deliver to Fabernum...

Why the Nave World Chat is Genius

I silently observed the general chat as I played the game, and while the... banter has not changed, at least now help chat exists in its own zone, and general chat can do its thing without the GMs having to occasionally step in to remind people to stay on topic. All in all, this is a monumental...

    PVP/PVE?

This already exists in the game, you have to press N to enable criminal actions for yourself. It's not consensual, of course, this is after all a PvP game where PvP is the norm, not the exception.

    Unarmed cant hit small animals

Let me know how you go, I just tried it earlier and managed to land 3/10 unarmed hits on a pig. There's a certain angle and distance where the hits will land.

    Unarmed cant hit small animals

It could be that you're too near the small animal, trying backing out a little and see if that helps.

A blend of Pax Dei & Mortal Online.

Not having PvP anywhere anytime was the deal-breaker for me in Pax Dei.

Why Blues Keep Crying and Whining Like Big Fat Babies

The crux of the problem seems to be that there is zero accountability for pking, and the only 'deterrence' is a slap on the wrist that can be earned back given enough time and effort. I think what MO2 is missing is an EVE Online-style accountability system, where every player you kill leaves a...
