I'm not saying that the PvE server is correct... I can't even imagine it. Must be PvP and PvE...That is basically Haven. Haven is the PVE server now. You learn and play there without the risk of PVP and you can get a good grasp of how the game is played without risk of players killing you.
Henrik is a classic example of a sigma male, basically someone who will follow their dream and vision to the ends of the earth even if no one else walks beside him. For that, he has my respect.Henrik has mentioned many times reasons why game will always be full loot and ffa pvp so its never gonna change. He won't change his mind about this even if it brings more new players because it would ruin all the core systems in game. This is clearly passion project to Henrik so he will go down with this path rather than changing game to something he wont like (or copy to every mmo on market like new world, eso).

I think the solution would be ONLY a PVE server but include GUILD warfare which deems opposing guild members at war are 24/7 open to pvp ANYWHERE they meet each other. Deem any guild can be at war with upto 5 other guilds at any one time and allow sieging of all their property. Wars last for 1 month unless the other guild surrenders outcome is decided on highest number of kills of opponents or base flag capture. Wars are optional ie a guild can say no to a war declaration. A war win is allotted 5 points and your guild position is on a ladder - a winner is declared and determined over a full season. A season maybe 1 year in duration. At the end of a season there is one month between the start of a new season and the last - giving guilds time to restock and rebuild where and if necessary - during this one month time span no wars maybe declared.
Elite is not a single server game. Its thousands of instances connected together.each instance has a cap on how many players can be in it. Cant remember the number but it wasnt very high. So no, you cant see every player in your surroundings, only the ones hat can fit in your instance. The other players will be in other instances even if if thy are in the same spot as you. Also, ED has solo mode which completely removes pvp for those that dont want it. Its a completely different system than MO.Can I try to do it like in elite dangerous? When everyone is running on the same server, do players not see each other on PVP and PVE and cannot interact? There aren't many PVP players anyway, and PVP players won't lose anything from this. Of course, this will affect the economy of the game if there is only one market, so it's worth considering some of the features of the PVE mode.
The more they appeal to PVEers the more the game strays from it's niche. Stray from the core niche and you end up competing with other huge games that are PVE focused. It is just not a good idea to touch PVE servers when there are already so many other PVE games out there that facilitate what you're suggesting, but better.Everyone seems too stuck on their own perspective to realize the overall point. MO2 Is a perfect example of a game that could work both ways. The bosses and amount of cooperation needed to take them down makes it a perfect PVE game as well. The overall point is it is designed for a certain category of players who don't want anything changed. There is another category of players who won't play it the way it is, but would play the hell out of it if it was PVE. So...... Leave one server as it is now, make another that is PVE based with duels and guild wars allowed, but no killing blues, and you would have twice the amount of players, therefor Henrik's dumbass would make twice as much money.
A nearly thirty-year old mmorpg called Ultima Online actually did just that way back at the turn of the century, ultimately lost both the PvP and PvE crowd, and is now a mere shadow of its former self. And as far as a PVE server "ruining" the game. Don't play the PVE server if you don't like it. Are you worried that enough people will be tired of getting griefed by you and go to the PVE server? Are you worried there won't be enough easy kills? Maybe only the other fighters would play that server and then you wouldn't be able to easily grief and now pvp would be a challenge? Be honest here. How does adding a PVE server ruin your perfect little gankbox?
The bosses take minimal cooperation. All you need is numbers in this game to kill bosses. There are zero anti-zerg mechanics for bosses, unless something has changed recently (which I doubt). I myself can enjoy actual difficult PvE in games, but this just aint it man. If you wipe on a boss, just add more bodies until you don't. Its really as simple and boring as that. There isn't any skill involved. The bosses and amount of cooperation needed to take them down makes it a perfect PVE game as well.
Thats how it was in Mortal 1. For some reason they changed it to this new half-baked faction/rep system they came up with. When they spoke about it before the game even launched, I liked the idea of it because I thought factions and pledging yourself to that faction would actually matter and mean something. I thought it would give different rewards and quests depending on which faction you chose (Yeah i was delusional to think SV would do this).f you wanted to be a murderer in UO you would build a house outside of town and have an alternate character or friend to do your town runs. You appeared red on everyone screen the moment they saw you making it very dangerous to be a murderer. That made sense.
