Combat is boring, a note to Henrik.

It's all part of my sinister plan to get them to destroy everything that isn't domination so I can be the very best.

Oh good. Was going to say any prevalent use of flying mounts would break the game. If they made it in it would have to be something very special that's not easily accessible.

Boats should help too. I'm assuming mounted builds will fall off a bit in popularity when ships make in because a mounted build would likely be horrible on a ship deck. Also, is that a jest? Are they actually doing flying mounts?

I'll ask them to make mounted combat even worse just for you, ok?

Right. Because that's far from guaranteed. We haven't even seen the mounted combat system they intend to use yet or what counters will be available to it. How can we presume mounted combat will be the only type of combat?

    Archery

I don't necessarily agree. I believe we're still missing three of the primaries archery will eventually have. And that's 300 out of 400. Archer is a 400 point line if you fully spec every primary last time I checked. Also, Alvarins get a bonus to move speed and archery so we're likely to see...

Combat Guide Mortal Online 2 for new players

I would recommend going over that you can thrust by going down as well as the alt key. Also worth noting that overhead strike has a key as well. I rebound it so q is thrust, e is overhead but I still think it's good to know all the directional attacks.

I'd say I fully agree with the added argument of I want to see them do their best to make it deep, rewarding, and skill-based over time. I Just don't want that skill to come from how FAST it is. Nor do I think faster is an inherently better way to make anything deeper and more skillful. And I...

Combat is boring, a note to Henrik.

Yeah. I never really delved into MO1 combat as much as I wanted to because it was bogged down by so many other issues that really just drug the game into the realm of unplayability for me. But I do remember hours of trying it not yielding half as much fun as I experienced in my first ten minutes...

Combat is boring, a note to Henrik.

I'll put it this way. If primarily twitch focused combat is meant to be the primary focus of the game, then we should get a NA, EU and Oceanic server. I would prefer to play in a smaller community catered to the way the game is being developed to be played than a large community unoptimized to...

Because they aspire to be the better at a very fair highly competitive twitch-based system in format (small non-persistent arena matches spread across multiple servers) that lends itself well to it. I think the more relevant question to ask is "Why would you aim to play a single server RPG...

Combat is boring, a note to Henrik.

Mind you I am not saying your perspective should be discounted entirely. But I expect if I were to ask a SV employee "Has feedback from MO veterans had a significant impact on the game?" they may give me a very different answer from what most of their veteran players would say. And bearing that...

Combat is boring, a note to Henrik.

I do not know you personally but I do know I do not know a veteran player of any game to ever exist who would tell me a different story no matter how counter it runs to reality. Not saying you're a liar, I fully believe that you believe what you just told me. But I am suspect of how your...

Combat is boring, a note to Henrik.

@Darthus Absolutely. Veteran players have the advantage of superior game-knowledge of their game. They also have the disadvantage of being the most far detached from the new player experience when discussing what will bring players into a game and retain them there. Often they have mindsets...

This is the second time today you've used anecdotes to dispute statistics. I keep using the phrase "anecdotes are not evidence" because it's one of the first things that will get covered if you take a college-level debate course. Anecdotes can be derived from outliers or insulated communities...

    Daggers.

I'm slightly more than 50% but not 100% sure that if you have a weapon and shield that attack rate is based on weapon weight while parry speed is based on shield speed, while with just a weapon it operates off both. Also, I think shields are a primary skill (Again not 100% on that) and while...

    Clade Gifts

If the crafting bonuses are light enough that say, Ohgmir are a slightly better engineer but you don't really feel compelled to play one to be an engineer at all, then I'm ok with it. I AM kind of biased though because I'm leaning Alvarin and butchering is one of the most likely crafting...

    Daggers.

Even a dagger with no shield is a fairly viable weapon right now. And we have screenshots on the site's home page confirming dual-wielding is going to be a thing. I can only imagine that the inclusion of dual-wielding will make daggers even stronger than they are now.

    Combat Suggestions [Feedback]

I'd kind of like to see backhits do double-damage like they did in Darkfall. Not only would this reduce the willingness of people to do spinny tricks in combat but it makes positioning and team-fight tactics more important. Like if someone wants to run past your frontline melee dudes to go for...

    Haven Server Instance at release.

I think if Haven is done properly it will be very important but it needs more than a tutor who just tells you where to go. There should be a questline much like the Heros Guild in the original Fable where you try every form of combat and it walks you through what you're supposed to be doing...
