Opportunities to scam and to be scammed actually are part of the game. Some of the most legendary players in MO1 were famous for epic cons while others were famous for never breaking their word. Honesty is one of the metagames.

I agree with this. I would also like to see grip material be expanded beyond textiles and skin. It used to be possible to use bone, tooth, horn, metal, and stone for grip. I don't know if scales are still possible, but they should be as well.

You're talking about "Grip" material yes? Apart from additional piercing damage, the grip material could also add weakspot and weight-driven blunt damage. Knowledge of the effects of grip materials is what defined a good weapon smith.

Please take a look at horse fall damage. The fall damage a mounted horse takes from even a small drop is kind of ridiculous.
