That's an awful argument when hackers are going to do so anyway. Hackers have already accomplished this, with the small community we have. Hit detection is also already client side initially. If you spoof your swing speed you can already get through the block as a hacker. There's plenty of ways...

But.. that's precisely what happens in this video, which we have already linked in this thread. This happens repeatedly throughout any fight with a European player who isn't asleep at the keys.

No because the longer weapons are heavier and swing slower, making you even easier to block. Range is not the concern here, its the server-side blocking. No. Not regardless of what is going on. If you make a hit on your client, it will register as a hit UNLESS your ping is high, theirs is low...

This used to work in MO1, which is why spez keeps saying it. It aint real good in MO2 but you're welcome to try. Even when it works, it doesnt change the fact that you have to spend 10 times the stamina to achieve the same thing an EU player can achieve instantly on you without having to use any...

It doesnt take a network programmer to acknowledge that the "industry standard" is to not have people from across the planet play a game that requires twitchy reactions together.

    Add Skill Loss Over Time

I think I join the chorus in saying: No, not even a little. Game was already a second job that yelled at you to play it. Really don't need stat decay in the game. Pointless repetitive rat race that nobody wants to be a part of.

Yeah as you said, that's packet loss. Furthermore, he will be seeing the same weird shit on his end looking at you. So it's not really an advantage. It's a weird state of being that he drags you into when you fight him. Welcome to the Brazilian Shadow Realm.

You do not get an opportunity to Block. The. Bullets. In MO, you are given the opportunity to block the (much slower moving) sword. The decision of whether or not the block works is made by the server. The person closer to the server (lower ping) wins the argument with the server if there is...

They kick the laggers cause its glitchy and weird, not because it has an inherit advantage, and again, melee and gunfire are apples to oranges.

    Melee Combat Guide(outdated)

@Dracu I respect the hustle with the video, but aint it a bit early for a guide for a combat system that at least SHOULD be subject to change? In the near future even?

Yeah I backed the game right after watching a video from TyGuy who lives in the same city as the server. Imagine my american surprise after booting it up.

Thank you for your cold, hard, calculated factual evaluation of the apparently identical systems. You have truly kept this a debate centered on the facts and matters at hand. The information about Aldi supermarket really brought it all together. You have a good day, sir.

Aggressive Play in MO2: I'm not exactly known for playing defensively. I've always been very chase down, grab, and smash into the floor. With that said, MO2 is a defensive player's game right now. (It was even worse in that sense before the most recent patch which removed 360 degree blocks)...

There are still 80 friggin' years in this millenium* What sort of prediction is that? Actually no Drac, I'm not AUS, that's not even 300 vs 25. That's 130 to 160 ping vs. 25. I'm NA. It's unplayable for me, can't imagine an AUS would even try.

    Some clean nice Sword Fighting

Definitely not gonna call it that. It's not in any way catchy, doesn't make any damn sense, and its a bad anime reference. It's also barely a "style" its just using the basic mechanics while looking at your opponent. "Vanilla" style would make more sense, and I still wouldn't recommend calling...

So the first video DOES feel a lot cleaner... but.. It kind of illustrates just how boring 1 v 1 actually would be if it worked properly. At risk of sounding like @bbihah This is concerning because it means even if the bugs and desync issues are ironed out we're still gonna be left with...
