Would accepting defeat be the better choice right now for the game long term?

I agree, just because you miss your deadline you shouldn't release anyway. In those instances they should have restructured the roadmap to accommodate the new amount of time they think they'll need. I don't think anyone should ever release an unfinished update. I see them trying to get better...

Would accepting defeat be the better choice right now for the game long term?

Sure, but I am referring to the common bugs encountered during normal gameplay. The ones that actually make people quit.

Would accepting defeat be the better choice right now for the game long term?

Quite new, I've only played MO1 since around 2011 and MO2 since day one of the combat alpha.

Would accepting defeat be the better choice right now for the game long term?

Yes, that's what I said. Having the coders tied up addressing the queue and server issues means they weren't fixing bugs. Now they'll be fixing bugs.

Would accepting defeat be the better choice right now for the game long term?

That's exactly what they have said they're addressing. They're literally telling you they're going to do what you're asking for here in this comment. The reason given as to why we got so many unfinished and unpolished additions to the game was that they released the patches too early to meet...

Would accepting defeat be the better choice right now for the game long term?

That's exactly my point, we have to wait and see what happens.

Would accepting defeat be the better choice right now for the game long term?

They haven't been dedicating time to fixing things for 6 months, they have been dealing with server optimisation and creating new content for the current roadmap about to end. If the developers are allowed to focus completely on bug fixing and polish I have no doubt we will see great results in...

Would accepting defeat be the better choice right now for the game long term?

How do you know this if we haven't seen the fruits of these changes yet? As Henrik and Robmo have said, essentially the entire team has moved over to a new workflow which includes the QA process. The next patch will show if we're in a better state now than we were before. Also have you seen...

    Poleaxes - the forgotten weapon

Fair points, but I don't agree that they should be twice as effective because if they were no one would use anything else.

    Poleaxes - the forgotten weapon

I didn't say they're the best weapon, and i'm not sure how being used in group fights makes a weapon good or bad in general. Lots of people use hammers in group fights but don't in duels, does that mean clubs are bad weapons because they're only "viable" in one type of combat? People will use...

    Poleaxes - the forgotten weapon

Poleaxes are actually really good, for the sole reason that they're just axes that you can also thrust with, or more accurately spears that you can also slash with. Having the extra thrust damage that you don't get from an axe, and the competitive slash damage that you don't get from a spear...

Flagging system changes, just my 2 cents again.

If you're trying to imply that moving away from completely open and unrestricted pvp is the cause of bad player retention, that's easily objected to by the history of MO1. The game is not "dying" because of a lack of pvp content, players are leaving the game for other reasons which they are...

Flagging system changes, just my 2 cents again.

There is always one witness to the murder, the victim. When the priest resurrects your spirit, you tell them what happened and who killed you. It might be anti sandbox, but thankfully there is no way to lie to the priest in game so the only way to report someone is if they actually killed you.

Flagging system changes, just my 2 cents again.

Yes I do, but do you realize it's a video game with a set world design that is meant to have consequences for actions? I'm assuming your point is "It's a game, games are supposed to be fun, and this isn't fun" which again just forces me to reiterate what I and so many others in the past have...

    That's called murder.

    Scribing was fun in MO1

It was indeed a much better system in MO1, that actually had some substance and charm to it other than simply, boringly, holding a button. To the complaint that it was macroed in MO1, who actually cares? It doesn't have to be skill based, it just needs to be a more interesting, immersive, and...

Criminals need to have actual punishments for playing as criminals.

I think this sentence alone shows how warped and misguided your perception of the game is. No matter how many times Henrik, the creator of the game, has repeated himself that this is not a "pvp game" it is a sandbox MMORPG, it seems some people still refuse to listen. You're trying to put a...

Final thoughts on Mage before the Testing phase is over and it all counts

Nefnate hit the nail on the head with this one, and I have nothing else to add to it other than complete agreement and a "what he said".

    Subsisting

I believe it's supposed to, and is currently bugged.
