Mounted fat mage can 3 shot a warrior, can't be parried, and doesn't care what armor you are wearing. MA and MC don't come close to that.

With points in int you can have magic. Why choose veela fighter if you aren't getting magic? Speed doesn't seem enough, it helps escape a fight, sure, but not win it. Maybe I will roll one and test.

Yes, but at that point it becomes a choice between int and psy. Int is simply more powerful and important. I'm not saying you can't have some success with a psy fighter, just that you are choosing to gimp yourself when you do.

My point is rather that it isn't a viable choice to sacrifice survivability/competitive-ability against 9/10 characters in order to survive 1/10.

While I am not a big fan of guards, not having them changes the nature of the game substantially. A person has to wait to do most everything when their group is online in force and if the group is not strong enough then it either joins a mega alliance or its members drift to other games except...

Choosing psy as an archer or melee fighter massively gimps one against those 9/10 melee/archers mentioned above, that is why barely anyone uses it. Also because it requires 70+ to be sufficiently effective against magic.

Wait how long though? They are planning persistent release in less than 2 months. This will be an instant issue when the game goes up for sale, potentially turning away potential customers.

Mages do not need buffed. They just need to be a second character. That is how the system is designed, and all of the attempts that have been made to change that have been overpowered and balance breaking. Two examples being necro pets, and elemental spells. If they truly want one to be able...

Everyone seems to be talking around the fact that there will likely always be a type/material of armor that is best and worn by most, most of the time. I simply prefer if that isn't steel or something else that causes me to need to spend a high percentage of my playing time just to have armor...

You seemed to be saying that pvp being fun or balanced was less important than how people looked on the battle field.

What next? Turn based combat? So instead of it showing off group pvp, it should show off crafting diversity? Don't think that is a formula for lasting success of the game. Once you craft everything possible a few times, then what?

If mounted fighting classes and mounts get buffed, every character will have to have mounted fighting/riding skills to survive and compete. This has always been one of the strongest arguments against the 1 character design.
