Imagine if your boss called you an amateur for not working 48 hours straight.
I appreciate that perspective. Not sure that's accurate IMO. There were plenty of ways to do this patch rollout/rollback with better community response. And now we see both the results of frustrated people angered over the lack of a wipe, and the results of frustrated people taking a rollback for a wipe. This is why we say that SV is damned if it does, and damned if it doesn't.
This is probably my favorite reply.Shut up
I'll wear the badge ofCongrats. You have now unlocked veteran status in the MO community. Enjoy tour stay, cause you cant really ever go back to believing Henrik.
Imagine if SV hadn't rolled back anytime data was corrupted.

Sounds legit.When it comes to servers;
If it fails or get corrupted or whatever, you rollback to that backup and no one loses data. Anyone in any technical field knows this is very basic.
- Take them offline
- Make a backup
- Deploy a patch
- Open them back up to the player base
No one needed to be rolled back if they did it right.
Well playedSounds legit.
What do you do if a bunch of data has gotten corrupted before you started to patch? (I'm betting you don't back it up.)
Serious question for the MO2 community, because I'm not sure I would get a straight answer from SV:
Is it possible some players found and exploited something really nasty and SV couldn't track down all the remnants of it, so they rolled back?
I don't think they would tell us, and Robmo did say "corrupt" with quotes around it...
Solid reply. Thanks!serious reply. The duping and exploiting happened in MO1, more than once. The devs said they removed the duped and fixed the exploit. Nobody in the community confirmed or denied. Very few people were ever banned. They never rolled back. The dupers were eventually fixed for the most part.
i highly doubt they would roll back for dupes. This particular roll back was because the whole server was so far gone and utterly unplayable they were forced to do it. For dupes or exploits they would probably try and remove as much of the duped stuff as possible and maybe ban the culprit. I say maybe because SV has a long history of not banning exploiters. Entire guilds left the game because SV refused to ban blatant cheaters and hackers.
At least thats what they have done in the past.
