Zero Trust - After all that "persistence" talk, you wiped 24 hours of progress on a whim?

I have ZERO trust in SV now. How do I know you won't wipe ALL data again tomorrow, or the next day. Maybe next time it'll be a full wipe without warning, wasting weeks or months of my time...

You've established that SV can and WILL wipe LIVE MMORPG DATA even when the CEO says otherwise in writing... to the entire community.

I'd also appreciate a reply from the Community Manager on this complete destruction of player trust and on the plans SV is taking to restore this violation of trust in a meaningful way.

LOL, its not a tantrum. I've been playing MMOs since I could hold a mouse. you just dont wipe LIVE mmorpg data. It's just not good. This isnt Conan Exiles 40 man server beta or 7DTD private servers.

They rolled back because they had corrupted data. You might come at me in some way or not understand what im telling you.
I am a very jaded player who does not trust henrik. But in this case the roll back unavoidable. They had a tangible data corruption in which they could not fix so the only thing they could do to fix it was to rollback to a previous save of the data.

It was like if you computer had corrupted data and it ceased to function properly. The only fix you would have would be a factory reset or if you prepared you would have a back up so you could at least save some progress.

"We strongly suggest any new players remain on Haven so you are able to continue playing until we have further updates with the transition to Myrland."
Henrik Nyström & The Star Vault Team

Then they wipe our progress on Haven...

When it comes to servers; you take them offline, then make a backup, then deploy a patch. If it fails you rollback to that backup and no one loses data. Anyone in any technical field knows this is very basic.

Henrik is finally backing down of his outdated vision, so much for "nO wIpEs eVeR" and "rIcH w0rLd hIsToRy".

We are making progress.

Are multiple servers coming next?

Hi Community Manager 👋

Can you respond as to why these basic steps either weren't taken or didn't protect our data?

They deployed a rushed patch to fix queue, like amateurs. They deployed it at the end of their work day right before leaving, like amateurs. They let it run overnight as everyone and thier mother was trying to get in. Nobody was monitoring anything all night, like amateurs. The server lagged so hard everything stopped working. They went to the office this morning and had little choice but to roll back, like amateurs.

this is far from their first amateur move, and will not be the last. You can bet on it.

"Small indie team"

See the difference by researching AAA development team and "small indie team"

Imagine if your boss called you an amateur for not working 48 hours straight.

Jackdstripper - Pro answer and seems to check out. I guess if I lower my expectations I could give it another go. o_O :ROFLMAO:

Indie does not mean sloppy. Plenty of Indie teams know how to run a backup of data before deploying a patch.

Imagine that boss had some brains and deployed the parch the next morning instead. How much better that could have gone.

and yes im talking about Henrik.
He lacks common sense.

It's not about that. I want everyone to play:
When it comes to servers; you take them offline, then make a backup, then deploy a patch. If it fails you rollback to that backup and no one loses data. Anyone in any technical field knows this is very basic.

Logically, They could have deployed a patch with proper backups and no one would have lost data AND they'd be one step closer to fixing Myrland

And now we see both the results of frustrated people angered over the lack of a wipe, and the results of frustrated people taking a rollback for a wipe. This is why we say that SV is damned if it does, and damned if it doesn't.
