What mage set worth anything is 10g? thats 2g per part and no shield. You either have a kinda heavy armor and cut our mana regeneration at least in half or youll have like 27 resistance on your armor for that price. Now I can make Ganoid scales armor, but that stuff is about 10 TIMES as expensive as steel and only has a little more than half the defensive stats. Also a good, lightweight shield isnt exactly cheap. we're talking 1.2kg with 45piercing res at least. Thats not molarium and firmwood but more like spongewood, flakestone and messing. A good mage set costs WAY more than a steelset and then you also get a 250g pet with 100g armor on top of it. On the other side you have a footie in way cheaper armor, with a 15g sword and 5g bow.There are some pets that are out-of-balance.
That isn't to say that they are too powerful but they are too cheap.
But, let's just take a molva at market value. 50-150g, right? max level it and that's a 200-300g pet. Put 100g armor on it. mage kit is 10g...
You're going up against someone who invested 400-500g in his kit and you can cheese in a player structure and make it worthless or less than worthless...

taur dogs are kinda insame atm true...imagine being a mage in a dungeon, as soon someone with a dog gets you as a target you are dead 2-3 hits later most of the time you only don't have only 1 on you ^^ i mean they will surely nerf them but i think the problem with pets is the overall design right now.I just got clapped by a mage pet combo. If you are wearing tungsteel or cronite armour pet damage does decrease greately, but we are talking about 3k gold or more for one of those sets. The pet costs a few hundred gold at most. If they tame it themselves its free, with some hours spent afk to level it.<-- Very few hours (75 hrs) into the game, but so far my least pleasant experience as a new player is fighting people with pets. My worst experience was hunting with my friend and delivering a parcel, then meeting 2 people near the town. The mage casted spells and the fighter shot arrows. I knew I was gonna die, but I tried sliding off a mountain and using trees as cover to escape (around vadda). But they had dogs (can't out dps with beginner skill and gear) that just slide down the mountain effortlessly, take no fall damage, run faster than me, and kill me. Personally, my only issue with the fight is the AI for monsters/pets. If I am near the pet as it attacks, I'm hit. If a mounted fighter charges at me, I can potentially dodge their attack and they will spend a long time turning around. If I run slide down a mountain, a pet might move at max speed perfectly towards me. If its a mounted fighter, They can't just gallop full speed down the mountain or they would die.
I googled "Mortal online 2 pets overpowered" in hopes to find a "No, ur bad, just do x" and found this post. The answer seems to be "get the gear to tank and destroy the animal" which is a huge let down. I like the idea that If I was given an amazing set of gear, while a skilled fighter got bone tissue gear, that I would still get whupped because I suck at feinting, parrying, masking my attacks, and avoiding handle hits. But to face certain death to a pet because of gear... huge bummer. I don't like the idea of nerfing pets though, it seems they really have their place in PVE and picking off noobs, and fall off in large scale combat.
