Just a few technical issues I’ve discovered that makes it difficult to travel with pets. Hopefully we can focus on fleshing out the pet system a bit more to make it less tedious for tamers and Beastmasters.
.) They disappear from the map. Makes it tedious to travel with them. You need to keep looking back to see if your pet is still there and if he isn’t there you have to log out and log back in to get pet back. Makes it time consuming.
.) Pet commands are currently generic. You do not have the option to put them on defensive, aggressive or passive mode yet so when you get attacked by wolves you freak out with no time to react. Pets should be able to automatically defend you without having to command them every single time. If you’re fighting 5 wolves you have to protect yourself and may have time to command your pet to attack one sadly it stops after it kills one AI and goes idle.
.) If you have multiple pets they lack collision and blend into each other. It not only makes it unrealistic but difficult to heal one if they are together. Same with aggressive AI; 3 wolves can be blended into one and you can’t hit all 3 yet they are hitting you.
.) If you have 2 horses again they will blend into each other and not respect each other’s physics due to improper collision. This makes it difficult to mount them. Pet owner has to command them individually to create enough space between them to mount one. Common bug that a horse following you will also get lost into the ground.
.) Exploit: If you die in the wilds the AI will not attack your pet. So if you port home in ghost mode; log out and log back in your pet will be there beside you.
