Why no red system like UO/Darkfall?

@Vincent SV seems to have replaced the traditional global red flag for murderers with a warning symbol next to their nameplates. They recently added the new bounty hunting system which makes bounty targets flag red to the hunter when the contract is handed out. A player simply needs to...

    Former veteran of Mortal Online

As long as you have a mount, you'll get around just fine, even on a comfortable trot you'll reach Fabernum from Tindrem in about 15 minutes. On foot though, that's where it becomes a considerably long travel time. The recent changes made it somewhat harder for brigands and murderers to...

I would say the game is a lot more fun (speaking for myself) than MO1, some things have changed to some degree while others have remained more or less the same. Crafting, for example, is a bit more streamlined, such as handle's outer grip can no longer use wood, and may only use soft materials...

    Patch Notes 1.0.2.7 Discussion

Yes, that would appear to be the case. I'm somewhat neutral to this new mechanic of one player gaining clade xp from another through healing. To me it's no different to someone coming along and killing the mob I was fighting, or taking the loot afterwards. It's just another form of the same...

    Patch Notes 1.0.2.7 Discussion

I understand your frustration. Stealing things from other players has been part of the game's vision ever since MO1. Thievery allows a player to pilfer things (with severe risks and chance of failure) straight out of another's inventory. Once a mob's loot bag drops to the ground, anyone can...

    Patch Notes 1.0.2.7 Discussion

I'm not a programmer, but I don't think it would take them that long to implement assassination. As the code base is already there from the bounty hunting system, they probably just need to tweak a few things here and there to make it work. Both bounty hunting and assassination are basically...

    Patch Notes 1.0.2.7 Discussion

I think SV could simply add disguises and whatnot like what thievery had back in MO1, which will allow the assassin to enter blue guarded towns as a hidden red. The assassin can then wait for the right moment to jump the blue target and only lose the hidden red flag once they turn in the...

    Patch Notes 1.0.2.7 Discussion

Yeah I know what you mean. I surmise that SV wants to give reds a separate 'evil' system that allows them to get rewarded for hunting blues who have killed 5+ reds. The complete opposite of bounty hunters who hunt only reds with 5+ mc. Basically what some reds are already doing anyway, but...

    Patch Notes 1.0.2.7 Discussion

SV had said they are working on an assassination system which is the reds' equivalent of bounty hunting.

Pretty sure SV will scale it back later on if they feel the guard range is too far.

    Patch Notes 1.0.2.7 Discussion

Most likely the guards have been lured further out through some means. Saw the same thing down in the Tindrem sewers the other day, one lictor standing at the staircase near where the first scoundrels spawn, and an elite guard in one of the tunnels.

Thanks for releasing the patch (a whopper at that!) on a weekend. Love ya SV! Source: https://store.steampowered.com/news/app/1170950/view/3207136576669870325 Added Added Bounty hunter system. Added Coraxi Facilitator to all cities. (Bounty Contractor) Added Coraxi Birdkeeper to all...

    Mechanic Explanation of new Features

It was not explicitly mentioned in Robmo's OP that 5+ MC would put the player into the bounty pool, which is why there is some confusion. Several other people also had the same question as me. Robmo has since clarified that players with 5+ MC cannot take up bounty contracts. Which would mean...

    Mechanic Explanation of new Features

Just saw some clarification from Robmo on Discord: Some Changes to Yesterday's Messaging There have been some changes in test so I removed these two from the list as they do not apply. If any more changes occur. I will update. - Wardecs on one guild will bring in entire alliance into the war...

    Mechanic Explanation of new Features

That is where it seems vague, the way I read it was that those who had 5+ MC and those who are lawful can take up bounty contracts. Not sure if @Robmo meant to say that those are the criteria to be eligible as a bounty target.

Game Guide Videos for Mortal Online 2

Crafting is a major part of the game, and every player will dabble in it at some point. The extensive properties of crafting materials are often not known to the player until discovered. Even a humble material may surprise those who often overlook it in favour of higher-end ones. Chapters...

    Weather, Clothing & Camping

I think if they're going to implement any kind of meaningful and immersive temperature system, they will need to allow us to wear (or not wear) clothing in addition to our armour. Not just for role-playing purposes, it will make clothing a critical component of maintaining a suitable body...

How to alienate your PVP community

I think SV is simply responding to substantial critical feedback against excessive pvp of the dastardly sort near town. This is where new players are coming into the mainland fresh off the boat, as it were, only to be met with bloodthirsty pkers who proceed to gank them over and over. While pvp...
