What's the point of the criminal system when it doesn't work?

I agree. Currently, we do not have nullsec in MO2 and it's a problem.

Question on melee combat pacing and visibility

Two questions I would like advice on. 1. When I fight with people in melee and they run in my face swinging, I often have the problem that I can't see the movement of the weapon and arms of the enemy, most of the screen is blocked with their body. It usually occurs when I fight someone big...

    True stories from the road

Did "buying on credit" involve having a blade to your throat and did he pay the credit eventually?

What's the point of the criminal system when it doesn't work?

It will, since this game can't compete with numerous other PvE oriented MMORPGs (which is almost every MMORPG, New World included, despite its claims). And currently the attitude towards PvP and PvP players in this game is alarming. "PvP players" also do PvE to get their gear. But they somehow...

    Graveyard PvP

That is all possible. Players can hire other players, promise a bounty for someone's head or mark known murderers as kill on sight and kill them whenever they see them. NPC guards already do a decent job of assuring player safety inside the cities, no need to bring more NPCs and other external...

Has Anyone Figured out the Boss Leashing Range? Or How To Prevent it?

Isn't leashing a very artificial mechanic, though? I thought people wanted realism and creativity in this game, not predesigned ways to deal with things.

What's the point of the criminal system when it doesn't work?

I think you have a skewed perception of the matter. PK usually don't bother with bullying and name calling, they kill a lot, do you think they stop at each player to call names? About PvE players and the "good guys". Go grief some of them, like killstealing and see what they will say to you in...

What's the point of the criminal system when it doesn't work?

Yes, PvP games are hard and in the beginning, new players are mostly doomed to die. When they become more experienced, they will probably also die a lot, just also kill a lot, too. I don't think there is anything that can be done with that or should be done with that, it is the nature of such...

What's the point of the criminal system when it doesn't work?

Where do you get this game theory from? For a sustainable gameplay the victims must simply be able to gather enough to recover and try again in a reasonable amount of time, whoever these victims turn out to be (remember, that roaming PK also kill each other and there is always a bigger fish in...

What's the point of the criminal system when it doesn't work?

PK players either have to limit their PK activities in some degree (like not killing people near some cities or kill just a few people a day) or they have to live in red cities, which are not really suited for that unless you are in a strong guild that has the presence there or are sneaky and...

Made a video to teach players how to increase their standing

Good video, too bloated with information that has little to do with increasing the standing, but it is probably useful information for new players anyway. The standing isn't just a random chance to gain, it seems completely crazy. I ran about 6-7 parcels in a row to different cities to raise...

What's the point of the criminal system when it doesn't work?

"Red" just means he got more that 5 murdercounts and can be killed without getting reported. He will still be blue and you will get criminal status for attacking, though. It is not a bug, it is the intended mechanic.

    Graveyard PvP

So, this topic is frequently brought up in all places where PvP is discussed, even though killing in graveyards is just a small part of all PvP. But still, it happens and can take various forms. It is often said that new players get acquainted with the game in the graveyards and people should...

What's the point of the criminal system when it doesn't work?

That is not true, you get rep down if you kill someone far away from town. Then they resurrect at their priest and report you. Graveyards have nothing to do with it.

    Add forced player looting

Whether robbing options should come with a reputation penalty or not is a balancing issue, the developers can just attach a rep loss to them, but the option to bop someone on the head and take their stuff seems useful regardless. And anyway, my opinion is that if a gatherer is wandering around...

    Add forced player looting

You don't lose your horse, though. And I probably would not take something like leather armor, poor bows, inexpensive weapons and the like, so the player can continue doing whatever they were doing in many cases, like traveling somewhere to hunt / gather / kill bandits / buy books.

    Weather, Clothing & Camping

Heat systems almost always end up being a chore and may end up separating server population into regions where they live because their gear does not allow them to travel to too cold / hot places. But I would really like some purely decorative multilayer clothing, preferably as a separated set...

    Add forced player looting

    1. Make better UI for existing options, like /droploot command. I am tired of trying to explain to people I try to rob what I want them to do. Most just stare at me emptily for a minute and then try to run away, which gets them (and their horse) killed. People should never have to use chat...

    Tind GY

Where do you get this idea that new players have this exclusive right to the graveyards or should be there at all? Haven is explicitly for new players and has PvP disabled for exactly this reason. Level 100 is currently easily achieved and you are probably already level 100 if you left haven...

Move Animal Care to Profession Skills

Horses can be put into a special category so that everyone can have one horse without spending any points on it or maybe a bit of points (like 25) for a high level horse. Not like being able to ride it defines a build, you also need combat skills that already cost a bunch of points.
