    I'd much rather do a task or quest for a real player than an npc. That's why we have the marketplace section here on the forums and the buy order system on the trade broker. Daily tasks and quests for the theme park mmorpgs. Player-driven supply and demand economies for the sandboxes.

    This. If MO2 didn't have omnipresent pvp and full looting on death, I'd fall asleep while travelling or even doing something as simple as woodcutting or mining. Wouldn't have stuck around for as long as I did with MO1 and MO2.

    Actually, armour does have debuffs and disadvantages. Armour doesn't do equipment hits, and you can't parry blows or block arrows with them. Shields don't require armour training to equip or use, whereas armour does or else you will be slowed down and be slapped with a mana regen debuff on top...

    There's a reason why they made mana regen practically negligible if you put on anything heavier than low weight armours. It's the same logic when it comes to tower shields on mages.

    Make the tower shields have a very high strength requirement, weigh considerably more than non-tower shields, and slows you down when it is equipped. Problem solved.

    It's a bad idea because of economics, the nature of software development, and public perception. While it may sound good on paper, reassigning and shuffling the team to a different project in the middle of one that is already in progress is a textbook example of project mismanagement at best...
