You're talking about the time-efficiency? The values in the spell book are not really reliable. There is a certain time it takes until the character starts the healing anination. And the release animation takes also some time. Therefore the greater healing is more efficient than it looks like...

The Necro clouds don't work properly. If a mage casts a darkness cloud (or however that thing is called) and a player is more than a few meters away (outside of the "animation range") he won't see the cloud when he walks into it.

That's the core concept of Mortal. You play on patchday and you get a lot of shit for free. You play on the next patch day and all your stuff is gone. So you could say it's a balance in itself. :D
