⬇⬇FEEDBACK/CRITICISM⬇⬇

Task: Go to any town Tavern and you get a Parcel to take to another town like some glorified Door Dash Driver. Once you turn it in you get the option between 3 rewards.

- Clade Gift Exp: (Pointless since Haven Zombies are the best Clade Gift Exp in Game)
- Reputation (1 off your Murder Counts and +1 to Rep in that area) It says 10 but it's only 1.
- 5 Gold (Pointless again since there is better Gold Farms in the game... Even Zombies offers more gold in less time)

It doesn't matter what town you go to, or where you deliver to, the rewards are the same. This is a huge missed opportunity, many of us who play were hoping for more dynamic task with better rewards and more things to do, so the endless grind of Mortal had a bit more flair and options to it, with some solid gameplay direction.

The current Task system misses that mark by a huge margin, and offers nothing substantial. It offers 3 things as rewards but the rewards are not even worthy of replacing other means of obtaining the same thing. As Such many of us who waited for task are disappointed. Task came and gone like last nights dinner, and they are already forgotten because they aren't worth the time investment and no one wants to run around pointlessly.

⬇⬇SUGGESTIONS ⬇⬇

Some Task Ideas: Add more Delivery Runs in different areas of the game, Not just towns! Make it exciting if we are simply just taking some dumb package from 1 place to another. Add Hidden Task NPCS, ( A Underwater Fishman Npc), a Hermit who lives High Above Fabernum White Bear Mountain, a secret Sator Npc that lives in the Jungle. Make these be difficult to find, but offer a HUGE reward like a Relic Weapon or Armor, or a Secret Cape. You could even make the Runs be Timed and NPC/Reputation Based. Example: If I have perfect Reputation from doing enough quest then I could unlock the TIMED Delivery TASK that would Unlock a Secret Cape. Only from Max Rep from that particular region could I unlock that towns Secret Hard Timed Task.

Offer some Fighting Task: The Town Mayor wants you to go Slay The Spider Queen, or 50 Spiderlings, 100 Sators. Offer rewards: Sator Spear Book for 100 verified kills, Demon Sword/Demon Glaive books for 100 kills and 200 kills. Megnaton Sword book for 100 kills. (In this one game called Runescape there was a Skill called Slayer, and a Npc would give rewards for something similar to this)

Offer some trade task: Trade 10k Crab Carapace and receive a level 125 Crab Pet. 100k Minotaur King Carapace for a Level 125 Minotaur King. Things like this would make it so Tamers Don't have to AFK Sit in town hitting a training dummy anymore!

Offer a gambler npc task: Trade in 10k Mats and receive a Random 10k Mats back! So if I have a excess of something I am not punished for farming that area if no one wants to buy them ect. Gives us a bit of gameplay options... Shit Starvault there is so many things you could do better then the current Task system.

It doesn't matter what town you go to, or where you deliver to, the rewards are the same. This is a huge missed opportunity,
First: That's also a choice that dovetails neatly, for the Task described, with where it is that you want (or ven need) to go next.

Second: This is mischaracterised as a "missed opportunity." You say "many of us who play were hoping for more dynamic task with better rewards and more things to do", and you can continue to hope, because when Henrik said in the Housing Info Stream: https://www.twitch.tv/videos/1189458084 that the recent patch would have Tasks, he also said that Tasks
  • would be simple at first.
  • will be "advanced, complex, risk-filled", later. Not yet. Later.
    • That means that right now you can expect simple, easier, low-risk, not-too-cool, not-very-dynamic, lower-reward, very basic Tasks.
  • Tasks will not directly be "quests" as seen in other games, he added.
Of course, Henrik said this in a stream,-save-to-video format that has no transcript of its own, and all the Beta Patch Notes 0.1.9.10 said about Tasks, under "Added", was "(Added) Task NPC’s to all cities." I don't fathom why, if the Star Vault CEO has something to say, publicly and for the record, about details of development like that, he doesn't have it posted on his own forums.

Fortunately, your suggestions and ours for further and future Tasks will be just as valuable without the feedback that paints the introduction of the system AS PROMISED —simple and basic— as a completed implementation that misses opportunities, or "misses the mark" (it's hitting EXACDTLY the mark that Henrik had set for it, at this time), or some kind of permanent disappointment. Hold your recriminations for a while— you'll be able to embrace them again if what there is now turns out to be all there is to the Task System. I have an open mind on that subject.

And your huge margin of error as to what you should have been expecting is not your fault; it's Star Vault not communicating well enough.

A Quest/Task NPC should declare every 14 days another Dungen to be a challance dungeon for the next 7 days. These selected Hotspot Dungeon should be a much harder challange during that time, so you need twice the ammount of people. Special Elite Mobs shoudl spawn during that time and the NPC should offer the players special rewards for doing them. He should tell you to kill Elite Mobs and demand every week specific Items that can only be dropped from the Elite Mobs and found in the selected challange Dungen during that time, or or with a much higher chance or of a higher tier.

For example to decorate Weapons, Weapon Hilts, Rings, Amulets, special rare Mobs, rare Pets you can dominate, special Diamonds or Items to recharge your Rings/Amulets if you die. (It should cost Gold aswell). This would make that dungeon a hotspot for Guilds during that time. It is boring if people only farm the most lucrative Dungen. The profitability of a dungeon should change every week.
This leads to more gear being transported around the world. As a result, the guilds want to build a house near each dungeon.

The weekly selected challance dungeons would then a hotspot for PVP. The other dungens would be relieved, which would be very gratifying, since some PVE players just want to farm their dungeon in peace on the weekend without getting involved in major conflicts. Other players want to fight each other all day. The game has to offer something for all players.

In the week in which none of the dungeons is selected as a hotspot Dungeon more meteor strikes could happen, to create other forms of PVP hotspots and to have free time for Events, such as town invasions for Monsters , Arena Events and so on. This NPC should tell you about the upcomming Events.
Here's an example. Astrologers have calculated that a large metor will hit the northern or southern hemisphere on Tuesday, sp Players prepare for it.

Okay so basically what you are saying is Henrik already said the Task will have different things to do and better rewards down the line. That is good enough for me. Did he mention how long we gotta wait? Is it soon after release? Or like a year or 2 down the road?

I would also like there to be special dungeons that don't take a ton of players. Like a solo Dungeon where it doesn't let anyone else come into the dungeon would be real cool. Where it has really rare rewards at the end if you are able to win. Cuz I don't want all the solo players to be pushed out of the game.

I try to follow @Speznat 's example and if Henrik mentions a detail, I try to put it in when quoting or paraphrasing him, but most of all, if he doesn't give a detail (like a time-frame), then that's why I don't mention it.

In a word, no. He didn't say how long.
