Whatever was done to "make taming harder" is the worst change Ive seen yet, theres no reason I should constanly fail to tame a young brown bear with full lore and taming skills, horrible mechanic and I really hope its just an error. #FixTaming

From what I've heard, young animals have a wide level range which makes it difficult to know if what you're taming is say level 10 or much higher.

It's clearly not intended that you have to fail 50 times to succeed in taming a low level animal, but it is intended that you have to tame aggressive animals when they are young.

Hopefully we see a fix for this in the next patch so it's easier to see which ones you can tame easily.

IWNAT (I Was Not A Tamer), but wasn't there a skill (from a book, which took some effort to get, and I remember being part of the efforst some time or other) called "Inspect"?

Does the game of MO2 right now expect Tamers to find the right crature (a young one with, at random, a low level) by trial-and-error?
That would be backward. ASS backward.

There was an inspect book, yes. Although it isn't in MO2 yet.

I believe they will update the taming requirements or the way animal levels work either in the next patch or near future so that you can see if an animal is easily tamable.

Good leave it broken, people only complain about mounted now. If they wont fix pets or somthing then they should remove it since they will never go back to fix it.

If the plan is to require even more primary points to be a tamer then thats not even a solution, being a tamer already takes enough points as is, its just getting ridiculous, half the pets arent even possible to use in a fight cause the Ai is so bad and now they are nearly impossible to tame. Devs really need to stop making these half add fixes, same shit when they added weight to horses and didnt give us bags for months leaving us with a shitty gaming experience

I think henriks solution is a annoying one. He doesnt have enought dev time avalable to make pets sidegrades, and doesn't want to make them worthless. So you have most pets worthless outside a couple broken OP pets that ruin the game for everyone else. His plan is just to make people not want to be beast master because you now have to spend a lot of points into it. Its really not that many points but it limits the amount of people willing to have pets in their build which limits the amount of people that quit due to pets being OP.

I 100% agree that the devs need to stop doing half fixes or half implementations of systems to the game. It really pisses people off. The game is supposed to be a 1 account game. What are you supposed to do for the 2 weeks you playstyle is destroyed thanks to a half implementation of a new system.

So far, the “balance” of MO2 has gone pretty much exactly the way it was in MO1. Op fat mages, MAs, MCs followed by footies, then bowmen and lastly mages. Tamers mostly as a distraction.

pretty safe to say that taming/beast mastery will also go the way of MO1: 98% of all pets useless and the rest only slightly useful.

until Necromancy comes out which replaces all pets with the most broken and OP of them all.

I imagine SV wanted to make taming more difficult so every character didn't just run around with 50 points in it to tame mounts and so it would be more difficult to tame higher level pets. They obviously overdid it, hopefully its fixed ASAP.

Also, "Inspect" for pets was a secondary skill in MO1.

A bit? Theres literally one white bear that takes 3 hours to respawn and its almost never a young bear.. It's horribly overdone and shouldnt have been implemented in a half ass state completely breaking the game for tamers

I read the rant, I'm just confused as to why you are still around if you uninstalled before the game has even launched.

Everyone on these forums wants MO to be successful, but only you seem to think that emotional tirades are the best way to communicate to SV.
For full disclosure, I don't always agree with TZone, but
  1. No one is forced to play this game, even in Beta for testing purposes, if they're having no fun or can't do what they'd like to test at a level meaningful to them.
  2. I don't play the Beta of Mortal Online 2, either, so all I ask of anyone else who posts here is that he be fairly constructive and not absolutely defecate on the Forum Rules. TZone might as well be here if he has possibly useful input, which no-one is forced to agree with.

You are almost certalinly correct: everyone here would like MO2 to succeed, or are at least fairly curious to see if Star Vault can pull it off and make a game that the community can enjoy.

The issue is if you're just using pets to fight not taming them just buying them or have 1 guild member tame or whatever it takes 200 points to be full pokemon master atm. Any build can fit 200 points for a pet with 1200 hp that hits 80 through steel.
