Reputation. How it works?

Could you tell me how works reputation with fractions?

1) Does reputation affect on NPCs prices? Could I sell resourses for more gold with high reputation? And could I buy stuff with lower prices with high reputaion?
2) What must happen that my reputation will decrease?
3) How could I increase reputation?

why for?

take my answer with a grain of salt since i don't know the full rep system ;

basically , if you make a outlaw actions in a given faction ( town ) you lose rep ( like yea murder , npc aggression etc anything when guard kill you )

under a value ( wich i don't know ) guard attack you on sight , farming rep if you are already on the positive side is more like future protection for future crime in that faction territory ;

hope someone can explain better than me
