The part about the trinkets being a number adjustment.
That's it, that's the problem.
VERTICAL POWER EXPANSION instead of HORIZONTAL CONTENT EXPANSION
This solves it. Because it's not really about if they fixed this clade, or spell, or build they game would be good.
The game gets progressively worse as time goes on. And why is that?
It's about how SV has consistently added NO-DROP and NO-DURABILITY ITEMS/BUFFS that stack combat bonuses on.
Why would any new player want to risk installing to grind up some molarium and jadite, when that's hot butter at this point?
This is the huge point of it all. At launch it was:
-Twitch skill
-Guild organization (optional)
-Map knowledge
-Resources
Now the meta is:
-Trinkets
-Guild zerg (mandatory)
-Mastery buffs
-Orbs
-Blink Charge
-Relic
Just to add to this:
If SV made trinkets DROP and have a Durability, it would significantly change how it works, but in exchange they could not require identification or charging. You can just put the trinket on when you find it. Same with Orbs, but I havent played recently to know, but they should drop too.
Nerf Mastry buffs, no combat % bonuses at all. Just stuff like more varity. Like you can pick one weapon skill and make it a Secondary for your character, which is fun.
For grinding things, add cosmetics when possible for FPS pipeline. Plus let people grind for Extra Character slots as a veteran reward. So again it's variety that unlocks the content that already exists in the game. SV did the work to add the possibility of these different builds but for 1 monthly sub you only get to try 2 of them.
Screw blink charge, completely revert it and go back to the original time to kill. Another terrible addition that ruins it for Solo players to stand any chance of an outplay.
Relic, maybe they are ok since it encourages sieging??, but i only point out its another stackable buff. I don't play lately to know if it's a fun siege incentive or not, or how it really works. Just to point out all the VERTICAL POWER STACKING that will make a potential new player avoid installing or quit after 1 month.
