What is it now at peak and what do you see it peaking at, at launch? I finally left Haven last night and went to Tindrem. I was surprised to see only 4 other players over the couple of hours that I spent there.

Tindrem is overly big. Go to fabernum and you will see people. Medulli has population too. I hear bahkti is populated as well.

Right now pop is very low due to new world release and people waiting on persistance/changes.

You're unlikely to see that many players right now, I would say most of those playing are fans of the game and those with big plans for when it goes into persistence.

I read from SV that they got around 10,000 players concurrently during one of the earlier stress tests. Which is not a bad number, at launch it could very well go up even higher.

We dont have exact numbers. But we know he game is in the top 100 wishlisted steam games and has over 150 thousand wishlists
Devs have tools to see conversion numbers from wishlists to sales as well. If anything launch will be a huge boom

The reality is the game is NOT out yet and this is just a testing period. Everything will wipe and as we can see the games prone to breaking and bugs. Most people who like the game are waiting for release. Even the regulars are mostly burnt out waiting for new updates

Dont stress and enjoy the game. Go to meduli or fab and you'll see a lot more people too.

Thanks for the replies. I am really enjoying the game. It is a really unique experience and I hope they keep the game off the rails, and leave most of the choices to the players. In regards to New World, it feels like Amazon caved in and catered to the masses in what they think they want. It lacks a soul and most of it seems grindy without purpose. I'm glad that the MO2 devs have a different belief and seem to be staying the course, which will lead to a living, breathing world with consequence.

I moved back to Bakti after trying MK for awhile because MK was large and empty, everyone is chummy in Bakti and it's small enough you see everyone. I've traveled around, tbh, I haven't been to Tin yet haha... I hated traveling to Tin back n da day. Tin is a weird city, I dunno how you can tell how many people are there because of how huge it is. If you wanna find out how many people are in tindrem, sneak away from the guards and see if your horse starts getting pinged with arrows.

Bakti is the most OP town in the game, with the exception of Gabore and Tephra it has every single resource in game within a 10mn ride radius... and if it is like MO1 Gabore missing is just temporary. The only downside is that the town is so easy mode PvPers will know that is where the red/blue action can be found any time of day which - horror of horrors - may prevent someone from using the grinder or crusher for some time (again, likely temporary until portable grinders/crushers are in).

No one will choose to live in Morin Khur (nevermind Toxai) when it takes you more time to leave town than it does someone in Bakti to ride somewhere and actually be progressing their goals. Literally, the time it takes to get to Calx from Morin Khur (forget Toxai) I could have killed 2 Dire Wolves and bring them to the butchery table in Bakti.

These were deserted places in MO1 and they will continue to be if nothing is changed which is unlikely since the new town Hyllspeia is following the same path - it is a small village like bakti but lets put a road that takes 10 minutes to travel to the nearest activity and make those either basic wolves with no decent mats or a troll that takes 5 people as if there were 5 guys crazy enough to live there in these conditions.

Mounts? Hook me up w/ the path to the mounts,

Jungle horses by the calx mountain west of Bakti

Hyllspeia is a new town in MO2, north of Tindrem. So far the most gorgeous looking town if you like snow and also the most useless

But the jungle is a great place, Bakti is really cool. None of the people who are going in on high level gear are living in Bakit tho, they are in the north primarily.

If you want the Tephra derivatives sure, you can't live in the south. But if horned or plate scales armor with steel (even tungsteel really) weapons is good enough for you with a ready supply of (iron)silk ... why ever move much further than Bakti?

I think every region has something unique to offer that the other lacks. Tindrem has an actual crop harvest with fruits, rye and other resources needed for cooking. Bakti has calx and the jungle camp, Meduli has Saburra and bor, Hyllspeia has Jotun horses, MK has risar camps south of them. Once we get into persistence and player housing is implemented you are going to see more activity everywhere. People are going to need to travel to get the resources they need.

I'm more interested in what the population will be 3 months after launch. Once the hype is gone and people decided if it's worth staying.
Ninety (90) days is good, but from what I have seen of games, a drop-off would begin around 60 days later.

I'm sure I'm not alone in wishing that this was live:
