How will Smaller guilds protect their 🏰 Castles while they are offline? Auto Arrow Turret idea, mounted by guards, also "guard mode" pets idea.

Literally, not figuratively, 18 years ago I played Shadowbane and it had many flaws but the Bane (siege) system didn't seem to be one of them.

You knew when a Bane had been dropped, and the Tree Owner had an approaching window of time from which to choose the hour at which she would start the defense of her Tree. Either the Bane ate the Tree, or the defenders destroyed the Bane. There were trebuchets that could be used with the proper skill. Anything less vital than a Tree of Life could be taken down without a Bane Stone-- eventually. It's been so long I forget the little details, but there was still plenty of fighting and if anyone slept through a siege it was bacause he had decided not to defend.

I think I've pointed this out at intervals over a span of ten years or so. Maybe something like that SB system (including siege windows) with Mortal Online characteristics could work for MO2, or ideas could be borrowed from it. Maybe nothing of the sort will be considered. I'm tired.

Thanks for the insight, yes i too have played games that had siege weaponry in it as well, (Never played SHadowBane though) i don't think Siege Weapons necessarily makes or breaks a game, but i believe they are a necessity to the idea of a Siege of a Castle in the very first place. But in a game with Castles like Mortal, i am having a difficult understanding as to why some players are against Castle defenses. Things can get very creative, imagine all the different crafting options for ATTACK Weapons and DEFEND WEAPONS, Examples, "Burning Pots of Oil" for Defense, or Giant Battering Rams for Attack, Trebuchets, Cannons, Arrow Cannons For attack, Caltrops Spikes For Defense, Giant Swinging Logs for defense for players who base in the woods. So many idea's i can think of. And you could trade these siege weapons and defenses with other players and people would get really creative with their base defenses and how they built their bases. I loved playing ARK Survival Evolved and making really interesting Ships.

In MO1 we had 16 keeps in Myrland. Did somebody already count the new keeps spots? I would assume they are more or less at the same position as in MO1. This means in each area of the map the two or three largest guilds in that area would go for a keep. We don't know the details about keep building yet, but from the information on the website it will be a long term process and really nothing for less than 20 or 30 players.

The Devs themselves have said there will be 16 keeps. 20-30 players not bad at all, I think I can round up that many. Thx for the insight.

If you can round up that many then you are not "a smaller guild" and this thread is nothing but a troll.
