Just a few things I noticed in regards to the upcoming stress test...

1.The amount of Walkers spawned in at any given time is a bit low already but with a huge surge of players trying out the game it will be hard for many of them to even get into the graveyard let alone kill a Walker and collect its loot. Maybe there is a spawn algorithm already in place for amount of players in area but it seemed like about 10 players in the GY andI was already competing for some kills. When the new players come they will complain about this quickly and might leave.

2. There is not enough low level animals to kill. I spent a good 30 minutes searching for just some boars and deer think I found maybe 2 boars 1 antelope deer thing and neither dropped any carcasses while looking for the dropped bag I then died to a Razorback. Razorbacks are a bit rough and there Aggro range and speed should be toned down a bit. We are talking about a new player fridley area here. Wolves also seem to cause a bit of a problem especially solo but I think it’s more about aggro range and then they follow you forever there speed isn’t the biggest issue but for new players they will not be able to run away.

3. Only minable ores I found in Haven were Granum. If we are teaching ppl the ropes then we need to also teach them smelting/forging. I understand to not let them progress too much but currently one might conclude you just need to get different ores and grind them to get the next tier of ore and nothing about combining them.

4. Add an arena for ppl to test PvP in Haven. So they can get a taste of how it works. Just a area about the size of the GY. A dirt pit with a fence around it. Let ppl socialize around the outside of the ring but anyone who goes

that’s all for now but will probably add upon this later. Feel free to add your thoughts below.

The new Haven is reduced to a simple "run to the tutors and jump to Myrland" area. Haven in MO1 has been large with many different areas and many animals, even Tribe Rats in a cave and bandits in a castle.

The tutors will come in the next days, as somebody from StarVault wrote in Discord short time after the patch.

And, another funny thing, we had huge discussions in the MO1 forum about ways to abuse Haven and come with full banks to Myrland. Now we have the best solution of this question: Banks are lost, only the inventory is transferred. One can switch to Myrland with about 100 kg of items. Nobody will care about this.

that is yet to be seen. Also it assumes you can only transfer it once instead of recreating toons and doing it over and over transferring items from a loaded mule you keep parked in haven.

the current state of pve does not work well in haven. the initial walkers are extremely simple and while they can gang up on you even then you can mostly dodge their attacks even on a totally green toon and come out ahead. This is actually ok for new players but it gets old extremely fast with just one mob to kill and at low reward at that. also for a mob that players are 'expected' to fight right off the bat, the graveyard seemed extremely crowded with new players that have no idea what else they can do.

pigs and springboks are more or less unkillable by the new toons simply because you cant reach them. getting the right books for crafting bows isnt the most straightforward thing and arrows are expensive for new players. getting coin for books is difficult and there didnt seem to be any pickable flowers near town (tho there are some further away). trying to go to bandits spawns is hit or miss in that there can be razorbacks lurking in the grass that are hard to see and more or less unkillable for noobs that have only seen walkers.

with some tuning and tutors i think it will be a much better newbie experience in terms of combat, hopefully they dont forget to add crafting in as well as part of the newbie experience and also the most important thing: how to restart from losing everything. I guess maybe with other full loot games being more mainstream its not as big an issue as it once was (back when the majority of players came from only knowing wow or similar) but still an important bit of knowledge to convey.

Improvement in tutorials is something that they should work on delivering over time. The idea of Haven being restricted in usefulness to basically just be a place to talk to tutors, learn basic mechanics, and leave is perfect. It's exactly what the game needed. If that's how people feel it shaped up, then it's precisely what I would hope for from the beta version of Haven.

How did it feel to be right for 24 hours?

Shit happens. Now we are at the same point again, people can fill their banks with three types of wood (I found dapplewood, graywood and whitewood so far) and results of granum extraction. It's not so bad as in MO1 because many materials are missing in Haven, but as a future bow crafter I can change with some stacks of whitewood and dapplewood to Myrland.

But you will spawn in a random city?. So the materials are not worth much. Because you spawn random.
But I know what you mean. but i dont see it as big problem. ebcause building up the skills to efficently cut wood and than delete char again noone will ever do that. But yeah inventory only transfer would be better i guess.
or am i wrong?

No, you don't spawn random! You should read yesterday's patch note! You can now select between all cities and get a Haven banker in each city.
