Basedbellagio recently put out a video outlining his opinions on early game economy.

Does he give a reasonable prediction, or is there anything to add here?

I think a lot of what being said in this video is exaggerated. Sure it will take time for people to level their skills, but a month no. It currently take less than 6 hours to max out a build, so it will only take 50-60 hours to max out build on release. An that literally the only difference is slower lvl rates. After 2 weeks will be right back to how we are now, the only difference is ya horse demand will be high for the first few months.

Also that selling knowledge theory is lol. We have a interactive map that constantly updated with spawns, selling knowledge won't exist. An even if someone does discover something no one else knows about they sure as hell won't share information about it because than they're shooting themselves in the foot. Look at alchemy for example there are people that know everything there is to know about potion making, but never share their knowledge about it ever because if they did that decrease the value of their potions.

Pretty sure the current skill gain rate is 100x faster than persistence, not 10x.

This guy has no clue what he's talking about.

This is one thing, I think, a lot of """""MO2 Players"""" actually will struggle with is efficiently leveling their characters and skilling them up.

MO1 players who have made X amount of characters over the years typically work out a routine they followed to level up the fastest, and it's not always apparent with 100x skill gains on how to do that.

Most MO1 players will be done with their characters, with all the things they need and not the bell and whistles, in a single day.

If they dont drastically lower the gold you get from selling mats to npc vendors, people will be swimming in gold very fast. Price of steel will be in the stacks of gold lol.

bigger problem i see is duping. I still have little confidence that SV is able to catch people duping and removing the duped stuff. The game is still so damn buggy you cant even ride into the main starter city ( Tindrem) without falling through the world.

The current skill speed factor is 100. And the economy will grow very fast at least inside of guilds. The public economy way follow with a little delay, because players will at first help out guild mates before they are starting to use the broker.

The most important skills will be up within days. Of cause some material lores may take longer because one needs materials with the factor of 100 compared to now, means one has to slaughter some hundred animals of the same type to get the materials to maximize the lore.

I bet on the creation of the first guild a few hours after release and on the first houses before end of the first weekend. This discussion about keeps is running in another thread. But we will see a good amount of stuff at the broker during the first weekend. Of cause the prices will be high in the beginning and pretty soon go down.

An it only takes 6 hours right now because grinding gold for most skill books takes 3 hours. Really it takes seconds right now to level most skills once you unlock them. Only ones that will be a struggle are taming skills.

That you tuber is massively exaggerating everything. The only thing that will be in high demand are horses early on. An that because you need horses for literally ever form of farming in this game beside killing zombies.

Combat ready first day easily. Depending on your crafter goals you will have everything in the first week. If you are playing enought.

You could see steel day two or three. Maalite weapons on combat complete players day one.

One big fear is how much gold you just get from fishing. So much money for very lil effort and little risk. Pigs also make a shit load of money for little to no risk and very little effort.

pigs are gonna be hard camped and they run when you hit them so it actually is only good when you are the only one, which won't happen. Haven--> nave is an interesting thing. I didn't watch the vid.

To me, I am more of a 2nd level type of money maker anyway. So, people's gain is my gain. Once stuff starts popping on the market, I'm gonna start making more money. I imagine I can get money in one way or another. The world is big. if GOLD has value ( I don't imagine it will at first, cept against basic books,) then it shouldn't be a big issue. I feel like mats will be the main value tho.

I'm cool with letting kids red eye out the gate tho. I just hope they keep the servers up. Really anxious to see how it goes. That's why sandbox-ish games are cool because you DON'T REALLY KNOW. I haven't messed w/ fishing tho so I can't speak on that.

I hope DUPING is out @ jack and I hope FISH MACRO is out, too. I feel like those things really damaged MO1 until TC gold factories basically rendered them obsolete haha. But dudes were sitting on suspect mats the whole of MO. I REALLY hope that's not the same for MO2. I don't care how people make money as long as it's legit. Good on 'em if they wanna go all in, but it's unacceptable, especially the second time around, to let people come up off exploits and ruin the efforts of people who are actually going in.

Usually on mmo releases raw materials sell for the most, because everyone is buying them trying to level up their skills, build a house, etc. I wouldn't really bother trying to rush to level 100 in a skill unless you have a guild feeding you materials. And Lord knows that will happen to some, always does. So for solo, I'd say probably just getting wood, iron, salvia, etc and selling it will net you the most profit

Matz actually won't even increase in price. Most people level crafting skills using bone tissue from the zombies and leather from pigs. Considering these are the easist items in the game to obtain, as in you can literally loot the bone tissue of zombie bags that others have already killed for you, an leather is kill one pig get 3-5k leather. Well not much work really in getting these matz. An as it stands you only need 500 bone tissue an 300 leather to max out a craft, so at launch it will only be 50k bone tissue 30k leather. That may seem like a lot but that easily obtainable in less than an hour. It not like other MMOs were you can only increase your crafting skill by using high grade matz at higher crafting levels.

An most people making a house super early in the game will be gathering the resource to make it themselves, sense you know they want it build ASAP an waiting for people to post it on the broker for an affordable price defeats the purpose of building it ASAP.

after 5month every month after will be same month. So i guess it will be fun until than xD and than after.
Even when the prices do stabilize an stop fluctuating there still going to be a demand for matz, gear, pets, potions, etc. It a full loot PVP game an items permanently break sooner or later. You make it sound like the player market still stop moving and demand will cease to exist. Demand will always exist it just prices for items will be set an be determined, and people won't try an be dumb by spending 100g on a horse out of desperation of being the first mounted archer to have a horse.

I disagree. Building a house is time sensitive. If you spend a week farming the materials all yourself your spot will be gone. Same for keeps, etc. As for crafting material I imagine graveyards and pig pens are going to be packed and full of pkers so I don't think it'll be that easy

You can literally place down a plot than gather the matz, you don't need the matz to place down the plot. If it really is as time sensitive as you claim that what people are going to do anyway. There not going to spend the time to get the matz before placing down their house there going to get the deed place down the house ASAP than gather the matz.

An let pkers kill you naked, what are you losing a few minutes of respawning and walking back? Sooner or later they'll just get bored of murdering naked people an leave. And no one going to mine rocks than make steel than use that steel to level their crafting skills, that a complete waste of steel. You may as well be throwing gold away doing that.

pretty sure that was made that way to make it easy in the beta testing
