Do a month of beta testing with release XP gain rates

I think it's really important to do a month of testing with the actual XP gains and not the super boosted rates. Everyone is used to being maxed out but we don't really have that much of a clue what the game will play like when not everyone has max taming, max stats, armor crafting etc. Issues could show up that weren't thought of before. I mean it's hard enough to fight some mobs now, but without being maxed it'll be even harder. Might need to be tuned for realistic levels and not the current tuning for everyone being maxed out

They plan to at least have normal resource values like two weeks before the release

I believe they should leave major time consuming tasks like that for their internal test team if they have one. Let the public get into all kinds of different scenarios that they wouldn't have the resources to test on their own.

I'm already not looking forward to the housing patch if you have to gather resources to build it like normal because I'm personally not interested in preparing for 15+ hours or however long it takes to gather resources just to try placing a house down. I'd much rather just be handed 10 house deeds and can freely place and build it in 10mins. It seems more useful to have the current testers place in total 400 houses to see how it affects the server and placement issues.

If they have a internal test then they are really bad. Risars stuck on fences months after seb though he fixed them and the current ballance change along with lighting changes.

Hahaha, if they wiped before the housing patch so many people would quit 🤣. There are already so many saying they won't play before release, though I'm not confident that they will play afterwards either. If you like the game I'd think you would play it regardless. Which makes me think that many potential players have already been driven away.

My Mind
IMO, Ideally:
  • They have a period of two-weeks to a month to test the game with all aspects adjusted for launch (skill exp, clade exp, etc.).
  • They wipe the game before they do it.
  • To incentivize players to join, they could create a competition, perhaps:
    • Add an NPC who does a skill check.
      • If you have X skills at 100, or, X skill points used, you unlock a title or cape for release.
      • -
    • If housing is included in this test:
      • Any player or guild with a completed home or structure will be rewarded with a title or cape for release.
      • -
    • If a player logs X hours on a character + completes one or both of the above:
      • A slab of Marble tucked away in Tindrem has their name etched on it, memorial style, for launch.
        • This slab would be large and the font small enough to include potentially thousands of players, while still being legible.
