I encourage all people to read my social roles post and imagine the game built from the ground up with players tied to towns/areas opposed to guild tag. That being said...

I was going to sub, but I just can't do it atm. Why? The grind is awful. I am going to try to explain why it needs to change before new players are going to play the game!

Imagine you create a character and log in from Haven:

You are faced with a grind to finish out your clade tree to use those 'cool new skills' that are being balanced.

You are then faced with grind into mastery.

You are then faced with task grind to get enough tokens to use more 'cool new skills' that are necessary to play. You have to go town to town to even find the skills you want. WHAT

____

Pause and reflect

____

Then, we have magic spec, lore spec, trinket grind. You have to get mats to build your TC, you have to get mats to gear your character, you have to get get gold to unlock mastery trees or unspec your mastery gifts if you chose the wrong ones.

There is always going to be a level of grind in the game, but it is completely based on a veteran player who does all daily tasks every day imo. That's not SANDBOX. That is cancer to new players.

I propose:

Start at mastery 1 out of haven. Give people all their clade points once they clear Haven. Make clade respec FREE from the 15% garbage.

Make it so mastery trees don't cost money and that it doesn't cost money to respec, or give the ability to pull a whole tree for x amount of gold.

Make it so you can get YOUR FUCKING COMBAT SKILLS anywhere and it shouldn't cost some currency you have to get by looping bandit tasks.

All magic scrolls, armor books, weapon books, beast mastery lore etc available from vendors. Price could be high for some, but it should be lower than people list them on broker. Having VALUE and have something be completely exclusive are not the same.

If you want to put them in a crazy spot like a red town or hermit OK, but should be available somewhere. Gating that shit by random drop chance is just bad mojo.

That should just be step 1 of making a game that people actually want to play after installing. The idea that you see some shit and play hundreds of hours based on the dream of maybe attaining it is a 'regular mmo' thing. Even making OGH if you have access to crater (and book lool) is way easier than all this other shit.

ANTI ZERG starts by not letting zergs obtain all of the good content and decide who can have it.

imo i kinda like how grindy the mastery system is and that it is a gold sink to respec things, it gives people something to work towards/grind for everyday.. but i do also at the same time agree its very grindy for some people..
i think they could give us x2 sets of dailys, one set in tindremic region and then 1 set in the khurite region, this not only gives people an easier way to grind xp everyday but also gets people moving between the two regions and doing stuff.

Masteries should be grindy, but they shouldnt give such a huge advantage. They should be only slight advantages that you can slowly work towards withouth being too gimped just because you dont have them.

A long term grind is needed in mmorpg. The problem now is that masteries give too much of an advantage so it feels like you have to have them.

Grinding should be optional if want to work hard to gain a slight edge, noy mandatory because otherwise you are gimped.

Again, a good idea in theory, but horribly implemented by SV. As usual.

The grind should be building the world from the ground up, developing things that can be used by the developers but need to be protected / fought over by adversaries.

The idea of 'guild growth' and tc is still too personal imo. The game needs to be based from the ground up within a system that can be shifted due to player action. Then, there will always be content, there will always be something happening.

The PERSONAL grind that you are forced into to be PERSONALLY viable is just crazy for this type of game. That means, no joke, that for the first 100 or so hours at least you are a pet. You have to be protected or you are food for vets.

That's not even touching on how people will try to hold onto shit like golden hammers / high lvl spells to the point that they should be made available for gold at a vendor.

And that's not even touching how many fkn tasks you have to do to get all of your combat skills.

I dono, was tryin' to play MO w/ a bro who just came back, but when I think about how shitty the game is, there is nothing i am looking forward to, and I still have 2 chars to spec. I can't imagine how a new player feels trying to spec 3 chars, and the argument is 'u don't have to spec 3 chars in your first month,' but I mean... they are offering that?

Everyone agrees gating is bad, but they are GATING PEOPLE FROM PLAYING THE GAME. Then they are gated from progressing based on how much people wanna gouge them for good trinks / orbs / necessary books and spells. - shrug -

They should just restart from scratch once again at this point, considering the game have less average player per km square than MO1 had during rpk, dred, pyre war in november 2017. I dont think they can flip MO2 back again.

Here are the stats comparison, this apply Myrland and Sarducca but doesnt apply dungeon under ground surface, its roughly 70% less player per km square on MO2.

MO1 was basically dead during the RPK Revolution of mid 2018 early 2019 with an average player of 60-80 which is around 0.5 player per km square.

is MO2 really salvageable ?

PS: This post have almost nothing to do with the main subject of the thread, except the TC talk , i just wanted to beat a dead horse.

people say nobody reads the forums, but I disagree... and this shit comes up on google, so the more you can spam how you feel, if you got the energy to, the better imo lol.
