If Nothing Else, Make Races Good at What They SHOULD Be Good At

Yea, they just *have* to see that this still needs much thought at this point. This topic has always been an issue and ties into the whole how can we make all attributes somewhat desirable for all roles.

    Nights have become ridiculous

You don't "have to" waddle through the dark night, but it is a hinderence the game world might present to you at certain times - just like it might present you with a blood thirsty zerg. You can gauge when you might get a dark night, you never really know when you get ganked, so I really do not...

    Nights have become ridiculous

So dying and losing all your shit is fine, but a lil bit of darkness is "annoying"? Whats LO?

    Nights have become ridiculous

That's exactly the point though. It is something that hinders you. You have to overcome that problem, either by postponing that activity or using torches .. or a light spell .. or have nightvision .. or whathaveyou. Not every night should be pitch black, but it should be a factor that you wanna...

    Nights have become ridiculous

Well .. I mean ... people are stupid what should I say. :p Fact of the matter is is that it fits this game like no other. Its goal is immersion, including risk and danger. It's also a sandbox game where you have to come up with solutions for challenges the game or its inhabitants present. MO1...

    Nights have become ridiculous

I always liked dark nights. It gives purpose to player made light sources (and now Nightvision gifts). I greatly disliked the removal of pitch black nights in MO1. I welcome their goal of making a kind of darkness that cannot be bypassed with gamma tweaks.

Human Racial Balance - Con is King?

Same. Diminishing returns were suggested by quite a few in the past actually. I'd also like to see more "cross role" use for attributes. Int could give a bonus to the skill point pool for example. Psy with its magic resistance would probably already be fine with diminishing returns. Strength...

    No 3rd person confirmed

So you argue that 3rd person doesn't change any gameplay elements, and then you say it changes gameplay elements like combat. You just keep hitting yourself in the face. Why would you do that ?

What ? Are you trolling me right now ? :D

    The Game isn't Ready [Poll]

I included that to exemplify the meaning of my stance. Shadows is the same category: ensure equal footing for all players. This is Henriks stated goal and I absolutely approve. Props like this can and will be used for hiding purposes. WYSIWYG consistency. It is part of the game.

    The Game isn't Ready [Poll]

You should absolutely not be able to disable Foliage and Shadows for quite obvious reasons.

key A always strafes left and cannot be unmapped

[Bump] This is still the case. :) On my nerdy keyboard Move Forward would be A. So when I press A I Strafe Left and Move Forward simultaniously.

key A always strafes left and cannot be unmapped

When I try to map A to something, it will always strafe to the left + the action I have mapped. It seems to be hard-coded to strafe left.

Serious Post: Does Game work ON Linux anyone Tested Yet? i want to buy today.

I settled on 2 computers and a KVM switch because of a stubborn gaming industry. It's not too bad with things like the asrock DeskMini and cheap ryzen APU's these days... I've actually came to like a separate machine just for gaming. I can keep my other computer pretty strictly free of any...

    Mounted

Well I know people hated it. I hated that people hated it. It was a much needed drawback. It obviously needed tweaks, but getting rid of it completely was the wrong decision, IMHO.

Highly doubt it. Sebastian said he doesn't know anything about linux, and I don't think SV can afford spending much time into making it cross-platform. However, seems like Valve and CodeWeavers got our backs - unless SV decides to add some aggressive Anticheat rootkit shenengians at some point...

    Bring back longer extraction timers

Timesinks like those are atrocious and unnecessary. The time it takes to make a given product should solely depend on logistics. You can tune the amount you want generate per player by adjusting mining rates. You can also wear out pick axes - they already do, but those need to be player crafted...

    Mounted

IMHO this depends on how good they can be countered. Having to hit a mount 5 billion times and a forever broken spear stance doesn't help. They also changed the way horses behaved some time ago from somewhat having their own head to 100% obedient automatons. If horses were irritated/panicking...
