    Put on a shield and stay near trees. I recommend rawhide or silks for backings to increase your pierce resistance.

    You don't reduce the damage any of you actively block, but it does change the position of the shield so you can protect your head more afaik.

    IMO you don't need anatomy as a Dex mage, just use lesser heal, you can get blocking. You don't need daggers if you're a taming mage, that's the pets job (yes I know they don't always work). Have you had the birds chase a mounted person? Do they hit the person/horse when 3speed?

    That's why you gotta use terrain as well. Find a rock only an alv can jump up, or a cliff only an alv can jump down. That said, I've actually never had an issue running away on my lean sheevra mage, unless they're mounted, or I wasn't managing my stam well.

    This is probably a better solution than adding static camps around the priests. You get the same result (pig armor) without the addition of static crafting tables that gives the red guilds the mobility you're worried about.
