Wake up, friend! You're playing an online game with an average of 400 players online.
This game will be playable with 200 people online. Heck even 100. As in a tight group of people. You can still have massive pvp with 100 people. You can still do dungeons. And small scale PvP.
It's just that it's underselling this game. Just the magic system itself deserves at least 1000 players.

What are you even talking about? I never said I hated the game, and I'm not trying to "roast" you. Your opinion is ass and your opinion is why the game has no one playing it.
To be clear you think my opinion of "there is more to the quality of a game than player count" is bad? Meaning logically you think the best game is the game with most players?

I think 100,000 people should play this game because it has my favorite mechanic.
But the reality is different: there is a noticeable decline in online activity, and as soon as online activity drops below 100 people, MO3 will be announced.
In my opinion, a different monetization model is needed for the game; the current model has proven its inadequacy.

To be honest, I think Henrik will give up here. He's already made several million, and frankly, I suspect this is his last attempt. And perhaps that's for the best. I'll keep waiting for that great medieval MMO that never seems to arrive, the one I can waste my last years on.

I still say the current GAME opposed to model. There might be technically more people logged in with a f2p model, but would the content in the game get better, as this is a sandbox, and that is where the real content comes from. They just need to fix the game, make it more exciting and more solo-able. Make it viable to go out and adventure and make it so that players are the main threat your face when doing that. Facilitate that.

There are so many bandaids, but they are not even on the worst parts. For now, all changes in the game should be focused on promoting action.

War system change is a NERF to action; caravan camp is a buff. Let's watch what happens.

I hope that if caravans take off that they are able to add brokers and make them places for murder hobos to use as their home. Never thought I'd say the game needs more murder hobos, but it just does. A murder hobo and a red guy in a zerg guild are way different in terms of the content they create imo.

Friend, this is your opinion, I don't judge it.
I've been playing Mortal Online since 2016 and I can say that even what's currently implemented in the game is more than interesting in this genre.
But the main problem the staff MO2 is currently facing is not with the game's content.
The problem I see is veterans of the game going offline and there's no influx of new players. With the current policy game, this is the death of the game in the near future. So, my personal opinion is that the game's current monetization model is absolutely uncompetitive compared to other gaming projects.

Don’t you think it’s a problem when, I would say conservative estimate, that at least 50% of the mo1 players say this game is trash and unrecognizable?

It's not competitive specifically because the people that do spend this kind of money on games would rather get more value for their time by playing one of the thousands of other games on the market, old and new. The game needs to continue to improve, cutting the sub fees does not fix the core problems the developers need to address. Luckily, this has recently been acknowledged by SV in the discord regarding their new direction, and given some of the recent improvements to the game with wayshrines, caravans, and the new town banks, the game is heading in that direction.

That being said, I would appreciate some sub sales every so often, a common initiative used by competitors. I bought the cape packs specifically because of the 3-month sub deal, not necessarily the capes. Many people are on the sidelines wanting to wade into Nave but the full $15 makes them wonder if it's worth it; a lot haven't touched the game since the first year or two, and would be surprised by at least some of the improvements; a discount would definitely entice at least some of these people.

No matter what you change in the game, subscriptions will only make it emptier and emptier. Once someone cancels their subscription, the tendency is for that person not to return to the game.
These people don't renew their subscriptions because they're waiting for new things, waiting for a moment when it's "more worthwhile" to subscribe, and if you don't have an active subscription, it becomes an obstacle to returning to the game, and they go play other games that don't charge a subscription... if there were no subscription fee, these people would continue logging into the game to play every day or at least socialize with friends...
80% of my friends who take a break and cancel their subscription never come back...
I know dozens of players who abandoned Mortal Online 2 because of the monthly subscription, friends who say they'll only come back if the subscription is removed... especially non-European players who already have to pay the no-ping monthly fee to be able to play, and I understand them, committing 20% or 30% of their monthly income to play a game with few players doesn't seem like a good idea. I'm in favor of the complete removal of the subscription so that the game recovers and also gives us back that atmosphere from before where we saw people from all over the world in Mortal Online 2, people from the Middle East, India, Venezuela, Argentina, Brazil, Thailand, Nepal... in short, various cultures! including from less economically favored countries.
The game world was fascinating because it united all these peoples... that was magical, nowadays that diversity is gone and entire clans have left the game... friends who are missed in our community.
Subscription is a solution that creates more problems than solutions.

You do realize how many subscription based games bring in tens of thousands of concurrent players? When you get into the numbers of how many total subscriptions that is for a single game, you're looking at hundreds of thousands into the millions of players that pay subscription costs higher than what Mortal Online 2 costs. This isn't a subscription cost problem, it's a value problem. (Again, I did mention the value of a discount as well, something they should be doing more often)

I understand the cost of living varies wildly in the world, I've known many people myself from these areas. Gaming is a multi-billion dollar industry, and unfortunately the price to play is not dictated by the people who cannot afford it. At least things like Geforce Now have come along and allowed more people to play without spending their yearly income on a computer. When you start to look at hobbies outside of gaming, some are cheaper, some are INCREDIBLY expensive.

At least half my guild would resub if breeding came, as well as many other guilds, and I know of entire guilds that would do the same for that or similar content.

Free to play Haven would also be immensely helpful; after the rework about a year ago it is a massively positive experience for new players.

All global subscription-based games are in freefall... losing players drastically. Even big names have completely empty servers; servers that were full a year ago merge servers to increase the population, and months later they're empty again! They've even stopped disclosing online player numbers to avoid negative publicity for the company. The reality is clear! And it's right before our eyes. A vote isn't even necessary because those who are here to vote are the remaining minority who accepted the subscription, while those who disagreed have long since left and are no longer here to vote!
😵‍💫
It's the same as holding a vote on the topic: which football team is better, Real Madrid or Manchester United, and only interviewing Manchester United fans.

I don't think people understand the implications of what they're asking.

SV will have to make their money to keep the game running, with or without the monthly sub. That means some way, somehow, they have to convince us to pony up.

Either that, or they will have to heavily run ads or some other means of monetisation to generate the revenue.

I still speak to many inactive players as well, and they share what they, their friends, and guildmates feel (many of them I had the same discussions with before they left). You and your friends experience is not the same as everyone else's experience. I also talk to many active players whose friends and guildmates share the same sentiment I have about the content. Their game loops are lacking, promises and dreams of grand features have not been kept, so they cannot justify paying the cost to be here. A cheaper sub would help people resub sure, but this would not alleviate the problems these people have, and many would still be frustrated.

The NA server should have a large influx, this is an example of another group that is waiting for this to arrive before subscribing.

As stated above, there are operating costs, salaries, and investors to consider. It's a business, they can't just slash their revenue and hope enough people return to a game that still has the same problems and missing content they crave.

Suggestion:
Advantages of being a Premium subscriber instead of a mandatory subscription:

To own medium houses and strongholds, you need to be Premium.

To use camps at dungeon entrances, you need to be Premium.

To send items through the Veredarium, you need to be Premium.

And to use spirit teleports, you need to be Premium.

Premium players can register more items for sale.

Slower reading speed for free-to-play players.

Exclusive tasks for premium players.

The game being free-to-play will attract many more players to the world of Mortal Online 2, and all these advantages will make many of them interested and become subscriber players.

Free accounts introduce massive amounts of RMT, cheating, and exploiting issues into Myrland. This is why the developers are creating a free to play Haven server. Do you now expect them to run even more support staff (more salaries) focused on security to spend all their time monitoring the free to play situation?

The current number of Mortal Online 2 players is absurdly worrying. Will they need more staff to meet the growing demand from players? Yes!
My suggestion to make the houses exclusive to premium players was aimed at preventing the game from being polluted by secondary account structures...
The fact that the Veredari is exclusive to subscribers was precisely to make investigations less laborious... remembering that nothing prevents a subscriber from also violating the rules, since the monthly fee is not high.

The sole purpose of my suggestion is to increase the game's player base, and even if this doesn't please everyone, the best card we have is the end of the subscription.

And I understand your fear and share it. I also fear that Mortal will become a game full of skins, Care Bears, wings, shiny motorcycles and Thursars with bunny ears, but unfortunately I don't see another way out.

I'll say this, it has been acknowledged the unsubbed upkeep situation is being addressed. It sounds like they will be turning that off, but not certain when that will happen.

SV should let people who want to throw money at the game pay for lowering the sub fee.

Appearance items is the best way. But, for MO2 that needs to look and work differently than other games.

There's people with cash to burn so let them burn it and give them their lols. If you really think the sub fee and game cost is a big barrier to people staying online.

Or, just start adding lots more craftable/usable mats, capes, armor patterns, weapon patters, house layouts. And keep the sub fee with people earning things in game. Gotta pick one though.
