When does the account sub time start?

So I saw the offer and was thinking of buying a new account to try some character ideas, but don't really have time to play right now. Was wondering if the sub starts immidiately when you buy the game or when you first login.

yea I really think it does. I suggested to them they should make it so that as a new acct your stuff doesn't start until you enter Nave. It would make a lot of sense to get people into the game ALAS.
