Here is a big list of things I've been thinking about.
UI Changes
- Color selection for bags - Either through some in-game crafting or even just as an interface system, allow setting a bag to a color. It is important that all players see this color, for house organization. This way you could say "Ecu regs in blue bag, ele regs in red bag"
- Change "Thirst" to "Potion Thirst" or some other better name - this confuses new players all the time.
- Special Bags - Bags that can only hold certain types of items, i.e. reagent bags, that have more slots than usual
- Typing Icon - When someone is typing into their chat window in /say, add a "..." type of icon where the voice speaker normally is (I imagine wouldnt' want this if typing into /guild so maybe this is complicated because of how the chat system works). I can't count the number of times someone was talking to me and I was replying in text and they thought I was just ignoring them
- Toggle On/Off relic beams - Would be nice to be able to toggle off relic beams just for big landscape screenshots
- Beneficial Combat Text Coloring - make it so healing/purify/etc use a separate color in the combat log
- Pet HP Bar UI Scale - the Pet HP bars need a separate UI scale setting versus the player bar, so you can shrink em down if you have 3+ pets
Building Changes
- Themed Chests in TC Buildings - add guild chests to TC buildings that can only hold items of a certain type, i.e. a chest in refineries that can only hold ore or a chest in stables that can only hold pet armor/bags
- Guild chests in guild stoned houses - allow placing of guild chests into guild houses, accessible by guild members. This way house passwords do not need given out most of the time. I think this would alleviate a lot of "getting insided" fear
- Stable "Tethering" - add the ability to "tether" a pet to a stable. Activating tether takes some amount of time (30 sec?). Once tethered, the pet is invulnerable or takes vastly reduced damage. The purpose here is RP parking your mounts and not having to worry about them. Issuing any command or mounting would untether.
- Add Player Brokers - Allow placing of a broker that can then have a (I assume) limited number of items to sell and also to buy. I think this would be HUGE because it would really enable world exploration. A fun thing to do in UO was going to random houses and see what they are selling. I envision things like a house near a brown bear spawn that will just buy brown bear carcass from you, but also sell cheap guard fur. Or will buy or sell a pickable nearby - easy gold for someone passing buy, win/win.
Misc
- Add "of [City]" titles - Would love titles based on cities that are somehow rewarded for living in the city. Maybe just via turning in tasks in the city. Turn in 5,000 tasks and get "of Toxai" or something.
- Add Rare Animal Spawns that drop Trophies - would be cool to see more "Rare Springbok" type of spawns, and then they have a small chance to drop a house trophy
- Add a deep/creepy effect to ritual pet animal sounds - Just for flavor, would be cool. I believe this can just be done in-engine without new audio files
- Remove Ambush Spawners from roads - would be nice to know you have a chance of making it to a horse spawn if you lose your mount out in the wild.
- When out of stam, mounts just go 3 speed - it can be too easy to get stuck in trying to get your mount moving after running out of stam, but tapping W too fast accidentally 4 speeds and now you're stopped again. Instead, just make em go 3 speed if no stam.
- Exploration System - add NPCs that want specific items in exchange for rare things. For example an NPC that wants 500 Wolf Paws in exchange for a wolf trophy or dire wolf fur cape, etc. I think there should be some VERY hidden ones that basically want a stack of gold, for some wild stuff. Puts more people out in the wild taking more risks, and adds more cool stuff.
- Exploration Tasks - similar to the above but way points or npcs to find that give a special currency and then you can spend the currency on cool little things. Could be easy newbie friendly ones and crazy stuff that you can only get to with spiders, etc.
- Necromancy Healing Spells- you can't really be a pure necromancer due to lack of healing, so they always take Ecumenical as well. I think flavor wise we should enable being a pure necro in this manner
- Add a spell that lets you heal zombies and risen pets at the cost of a little of your health (and mana of regs of course). Probably equivalent to lesser heal
- Add a spell that lets you self heal at the cost of a risen pet's health, similar to above
- Insane grind level of task reward - Add new purchasables that require WAY more task coins, i.e. a better cape or furniture etc that cost 10,000 or even 100,000 coins.
- Buff Bodkin Arrows - buff bodkin arrows so they do more damage than broadheads to steel+ armor, but otherwise not worth using. This is the point of bodkins - armor piercing. (Note: I wrote this down long before abilities so would need balanced around that of course)
