Why the f*** do we not have an AFK auto-kick yet?

Even if there are very simple ways to get around something like that. JUST having a fking autokick on people that have stood still for like 30 minutes with no inputs would open up so much room.

Half the server online at any given time is probably people that are asleep and cant be fucked logging out and sitting in queue the next day again (understandable). But the longer the server stays up, more and more sweaty people that stay logged in for 72 hours straight get in. They go to bed and sit AFK, 2 nights in a row.

If we think about this a little more dramatically and assume that the server population would be split by lets say 50% NA timezones and 50% EU timezones, then at ANY GIVEN FKING TIME half the playerbase that's ingame, is asleep. Obviously its not fully that bad, but its for sure a problem right now.

Add a flat 15-30 minute AFK kick timer on no-input to get rid of the kids that are sitting in banks naked and are asleep IRL. Then the ones that are running into rocks and shit can get manually kicked by GMs or we can increase the complexity of the AFK kick system later.

An afk timer should be in game. However, it wont do much. People will just afk macro instead. Its super easy make a macro these days. Server restarts need to happen every 24 to 36 hours too. And yes, i do realize that will piss off people sitting in que for 23 hours but its the only way to truly kick out afk people.

kicking would be fine even for our fellow shitters if you had a grace period to log back in. GMs can and will be wrong, so giving us some time to return should be a thing.

Just because people can evade it doesn't mean they shouldn't try. Like saying they shouldn't prevent cheating because people will do it anyway

People in my guild have been manually kicked for being away at most ten minutes.

I think automating this would only worsen it.

The fact of the matter is, the servers can't handle the numbers. Therefore there is two solutions.

Either come up with a solution to allow more players in on a single server, or give us multiple servers.

It seems they've met us halfway and will he introducing sharding but they might as well have gone with regional servers from the beginning.

Honestly, I think people should incur a sort of punishment for staying logged in and not playing to avoid queue. Sounds harsh, but still. I think Gms should be able to handle most of this. They aren't gonna catch everyone, but if you get caught, you get, say a 24 hr ban. Nothing big, but big enough to keep you from doing it again. Get caught twice... 72hr. Etc. No one should be perma'd for that, but they should get a long timer for being able to log in because they are fucking up the game, purposefully. Yea it sucks w/ queue times, but pay it forward. Without them, queue times at some point would be at least manageable. Not optimal, but something.

How long would it really take a GM to look at the players on the server, see if they are inactive, see if they are macroing, flag them, then look thru again looking only at the flags and then kick them if they still aren't doing anything. The fact that SV stated they have no immediate plan to kick AFKs is worrisome. It's like... they don't care - singletear. - But yea, to me, it should be in the EULA/ToS that when you are done playing you log off or else!

They just have to invest money on a better machine that can handle more players and to develop a proper queue system. AFKers are not the problem, SV is the problem.

Yes, so easily do people forget that this is a symptom of a larger problem. We were given massive numbers right before launch like "100k in haven" and this put it in peoples heads that the server capacity was huge. The fact that only around 2.5k players can be on the servers at any one time could not have been missed during their testing so we come to two answers. They either didn't test it in any proper type of way or flat out lied to the playerbase to increase the spike of revenue from the 1time purchase. They proclaimed they would "stop selling" if they had any major issues, yet over 110k copies were sold, like what the actual hell. 2.5k can fit on the server yet you let so many purchases go through? I can't help but be suspicious of their intentions.

It would be super weird to talk GM bias, because they'd probably ban me. Just weird how some people are getting kicked from the game, and others are afk in Medulli just fine. Weird Champ
