When will combat in this game not be vomit inducing?

Im talking about the cancer that is spinning in melee combat. The only way in which you are forced to play, if you want to partake in main feature of this game: melee combat. You simply cannot be competitive in small scale pvp, or single combat without it. It is idiotic, ridiculous and frankly nausea inducing.
I have to hang my head in shame every time i have to explain this mechanic to a friend while trying to hype this game. Everyone just laughs and walks away.

Its an absurd mechanic. There is no excuses. Its moronic on every level. Why is it still in this game?

A .5 second action pause after being parried would fix this and make feinting useful.

I’d argue pretty much never, just from a practicality standpoint. MAYBE you could copy and paste chivalry but that would have glaring problems

I miss the old MO1 combat, more footwork less parrying
I’ll say this, the community got the combat that it earned and deserved in alpha. I very often was the only one speaking out against every little change because I saw what they were doing even before they began. Those cute little “community feedback” compilations lmfao.

The combat for what it is now has some high points, but mainly what it is, is a completely different game. Not related to the first one really in any way. Not a sequel

There has to be simple ways to make it too punishing to spin around. Bring back the double tap step that lets you hop in that direction( double tap when they spin to make them miss) Or ad double damage if hit in the back, or chance to get staggered if hit in the back….something to try and get rid of the constant spinning required to play a melee character.

In a first person game, being forced to spin your character around endlessly just to be able to fight is the stupidest game mechanic ever created.

It’s an interesting idea. You already kind of do that when they spin. You can move around to stagger their aim and get a hit in. Increasing the damage could be interesting. More research is required

The problem with back is that MO cannot determine which way people are facing.

I'd rather parry be a clutch thing. The fact parry gives you such an advantage is crazy, and the fact they added charge up feints is also crazy. I think they mean well, but lol.

The combat as is, is sweaty as absolute fuck. Foe 2 years ago is like the average naked farming bandits now a days. Triple feint as opposed to double feint is like the bare minimum opponent you’ll run into.

I’m getting my shit absolutely pushed in. So I guess I can’t really say shit but am forced to respect it.

damn homie, in beta you was the man homie.

I dunno, man. I argued w/ Tzone about whether macros would work or not, and I KNOW THEY WOULD. Spin macros are 'harder,' but feint macros? Ez. Spin macro would work if you were smart enough to use it facing the right way and at the right time.

That is possible, and the fact that people who actually stayed learned the systems even more. I dunno what the mechanics are, anymore. I know what they are described as, but I don't recall being able to charge a feint swing. There was some other new shit that I didn't figure out how to do, but I really liked using mouse control opposed to 'legacy.'

Fuhhh, man, sweaty is fine for me. I play games to be sweaty, but MO went off the deep end.

the spinny shit is the most pathetic sweatlord shit ive ever seen in a game. and players use it bc they know they'll have an advantage over players that dont.. and they'll cope and say its "skill" lol.. theres no skill involved bc all they do is tune up their mouse DPI have a bigger mouse mat and prob also crutch on macros aswell.. in mo2 you dont even need to be looking at your opponent to get a hit on them so the spinny shit just makes it so much easier for these lames.. they just want everyone else to sweat hundreds or thousands of hours just like they did to spin attacks instead of asking the devs to add more combats tweaks to mitigate it.. thank god SV is actually adding other combat moves to limit the spins but no doubt these guys will still do this shit like their life depends on it..
even on the last stream henny did on Wednesday when the spinning attacks were brought up he literally said that the spinning only happened in duels lol hes clearly never actually played the game bc players spin attack every chance they can.. maybe not or not as much in the big zerg fights but smaller scale fights happen way more than zerg fights.. some loser in the stream even said something to the effect of "spin attacks are great and they need to be protected" lol like fuck off you actual sweaty lil fuck with your cringe spin attacks..
So many people crutching on broken/unbalanced mechanics and exploits to keep their ego boosted in this game its actually ridiculous..

If anyone at SV played the game beyond flower picking you could reasonably expect some fixes since the game's issues are glaring and obvious.

But as you've seen, nope. And he still takes the bait every stream lmao.

In alpha there were some shitlords who were really upset about movement and aim. So they slowed down run speed significantly and added a turn cap that doesn’t work but just adds clunk, they added all sorts of clunk and miss penalties, the idea is basically animation breaks are the only kosher method of attacking, they wanted to limit skill to something only they were good at. This is why animation breaking and spinning is the only form of combat. Ironically they did it in the name of removing spinning. Pure evil manifest, using a crisis to manipulate to your own advantage.
