Twitch Stream June 23rd 2022 Summary
Ritual Pets
We have talked about some of the basic walker summons in past streams, we wanted to get into the explanation of the Ritual Pets. Ritual Pets are a new mechanic introduced in MO2 with the Necromancy patch. You’ll be able to use ritual circles (Portable, House/Deed, or Rare versions) to use carcasses of creatures to raise them from the dead. Every ritual needs a minimum of a Ritual Candle and carcasses. You may use other reagents or artifacts to imbue your Ritual Pet’s Ritual to make it stronger. When you raise creatures that are only using a candle and carcass, it will be weaker than its “alive” counterpart. The Ritual pets do level up and they do not eat. We are still in a balance/polishing phase with the pets, however once they launch, they should only drop small amounts of corpse. You will not be able to reuse full stacks of corpse to keep reanimating the “same” pet. Almost every creature in the game will be able to become a Ritual Pet. The exceptions being boss mobs such as the queens or the minotaur king.
Tower Shields
Tower Shields are what you would expect. They are large and cover a good portion of your body when they are on your back. Depending on the size of the shield, and the size of your character, it could obstruct your view. We are in a polishing and balance stage with this addition. They should be heavier than regular round shields. We are also looking at additional requirements to use them. We have not finalized these decisions yet.
More HotBars
We have been discussing internally that we want to provide more hotbars for players. It is something we are actively looking at. Once we have more information, we will let the player base know.
Beast Mastery
We had many questions regarding this future roadmap feature. The design behind MO2’s Beast Mastery is to enhance and inject more skill-based mechanics into the art of using pets. We have mentioned before Beast Mastery will unlock pet commands or attacks for different families of animals. This is not the end of the feature, we indeed to add mechanics that will require proper timing or order of functions to use a Pet effectively. This will also allow for more options for players to use Pet types the usually don’t more frequently. We intend to also improve the Pet menu UI to have more information. This patch may include such things as Pet Stats. Right now, we have not finalized out next roadmap and we update you more on what this feature will bring in the future.
Next Week Likely No Stream
Henrik has mentioned that he may not be able to stream next week. If this changes or we replace it with something else, we will inform you. We apologize for this skipped week.
