So well have domination for things like Minos, taming for run of the mill animals, demonology for summoning demons, dragon magic for dragons, and such so why not a thing for animism like something called Totems

1) You can activate it on a single tamed animal and you bind the animal to you

2) You and the creature get a slight buff depending on what type of animal it is—but if it dies you get a debuff to health/stamina/mana and can’t bond with another until certain time limit

3) you cannot stable or breed the creature

4) if you fail the bonding process the creature attacks you—with a higher chance with more powerful (more hp more damage type tames) tames to fail especially with older creatures

5) success would also depend on creature control, beast mastery, and the magic school in question

6) it’s limited to tames so you can’t bond to a mino or spider queen or any magical pet/summon

7) if you die the creature dies as well

Notes:
-If you die then your tamed totem animal dies automatically with this type of bond and you wind up with the above debuffs; will berserk its tamer first if they fail to bond with it with the spell when they try to bond with it

-It would be nearly impossible to bond with a white bear since it’s so powerful for example but a brown bear would be easier since it’s less powerful and tanky and a black bear would be even easier
A cougar or dire wolf would be medium difficulty because these animals are still decently strong but not anywhere near as powerful as a white bear

-A big cat/terror bird could buff your attack speed
A bear/shore prowler could buff your health
A wolf/hunter lizard could buff your stamina
A water lizard/bat could buff your mana
Bonuses would be small enough to be noticeable but not big enough to give much of an advantage

-In order to cast the spell to bond with a new tame, the old one must die which imposes the same debuffs and timer as normal
