As someone who originally was against buffing Alvarin even though I was playing one, a continual pattern of nerfing them while buffing everything else has brought me around on this issue. Alvarin die easily because as they currently stand, they are bad. They need buffs. That's the only solution to that particular issue.
At this juncture, I'd pump up their two clade movespeed bonuses to +5% each. When you consider their bonuses alongside things like the Ohg pipe and damage reduction, pumping them up from 5-7% faster than the slowest viable foot builds to 15-17% faster seems less absurdly overpowered and more just a defining of their role. I'd also make their warcry work while mounted if you don't want them being foot only builds.
