The Death of a great game. A sad tale.

I always hear from new players is that when they encounter a pvp situation, they are completely defenseless and are like wtf is this sh*t. I was like this at first but personally I stuck it out and enjoy the game.

Im talking about the 360 quad feint ballerinas. A new player will simply be too put-off by it and quit.

The world, crafting, graphics, sand box is great . But if the CORE combat mechanics is blocked by hundreds of hours to practice these moves, majority will not invest their time learning .

If SV changed this, ofc vets would rage and say get gud, but the growth of the game requires new players and no new players=dead/dying.

They already did with abilities, and what did it do? f*** all. They drastically lowered the skill floor for melee combat and did it achieve anything for new players? Of course not. That's not how you attract new players to a 3 year old full loot MMOrpg that doesn't wipe. Hell I'm not even sure there CAN be a way to attract a potential new wave of players at this point besides F2P. It doesn't matter what they change or implement. Their best chance would be F2P + Sarducca at the same time. Changing the combat won't do a damn thing, it could be tab targed tomorrow (most popular, easier and accessible) and there would still be 300 kids on. Your point is completely invalid.

They need to make the game more exciting and hardcore. There is a niche audience out there. There are mo players NOT playing the game. The idea, I would argue, is to get the game working and then flatten it out so that new players can step into the game without 1000 hours of grind.

But they need to find a way to create something that is working in some way. Something needs to happen in the game. Like in MO1, I didn't play for that long. It's not that interesting to do the same shit over and over haha. I did play hard a few times, though. I did what I wanted to, met some cool people, etc, but I was able to read MO news (not patch notes, but what is actually going on in game,) and watch vids and enjoy them. Be like ahh look it's ___ getting owned. Ah look, ____ got really good. That dude has ogh now? Etc Look who has all the keeps.

In MO2, that shit seems irrelevant and dead. I think f2p would bring more griefers, that's it. Obviously, griefers need to have a way to play as well (despite what people think,) but it should drive action all of the way to the top.

Siege needs to be way stronger. I rode by UC and it's like everyone has a house there. Nah, you should have to be heavily invested to keep a house at any halfway worth PoI. They need to tier vulnerability for a first step. Craziest spots are super easy to siege / no windows. Mid spots, then spots that offer some level of protection (like keep area or around town.)

Then, they just need the kind of content that brings players to the game. It doesn't matter what kinda players it brings as long as they play. Once you get enough people in the same place, that's when shit starts happening. This sandbox is failing, which kinda sucks. I still have hope.

I took a 4 month break recently and am pretty suprised by the state of the game now. I've been a big follower of Mortal Online since the first version and always go back to watch the youtube video "Mortal Online collector's edition" for a good laugh! Unfortuantely, the state of THIS game is now heading that direction.

When the second character slot was released, I understood it was for "financial" reasons. I understood that from a business point of view and why it was necessary. I mean lets be honest, SOME mo2 is better than not having it at all. But alas the fruit is not showing its rotten core. The removal of the "dynasty" system has completely exposed my fears.

After being gone 4 months and returning, you have major guilds broken apart. Internal fighting, guilds imploding, leaving the game, and friendships broken. The reason is there is ZERO accountability and no way to regulate (outside of being a neighborhood watch lunatic) on the safety net of your guild or group of friends. People are rolling spies, lying, cheating, stealing, which all just causes such a major lack of trust that guilds have potentially just become safe for "diehards". (aka people who know each other in RL/or years of gaming).

While this may sound just fine to some, as this is a hardcore MMO, for the vast majority this is a final nail in the coffin. 4 months doesn't seem like a long time, but from a "fresh" stand point let me share my observations over the past week.

Haven has now been turned into an AMAZING experience for NEW players. Giving them hope and excitement to journey on! Enter Nave and continue the amazing experience(s) had so far, but this is the reality of what they are offered on exit.

1. 20ft outside of ANY starting town they are fodder. They have ZERO interesting POI's to explore that are anywhere close to being safe. They are slaughtered for no other reason than bored players looking for entertainment. Do I blame the PKer? Not at all, the game/devs job is to provide LASTING fun and experiences that encourage other types of gameplay. Which this one clearly is not.

2. The actual so called "hard-core" pvp is gated by the most RIDICULOUS rules/regulations/costs/fees/time mechanics to actually do any REAL pvp content. (sieges, guild control ect) Why is anyone gonna go thru 50 thousand hoops to pvp when you can just roll up on some noob and slaughter him? Ya its terrible pvp but at least its INSTANT!

3. The "meta" is the same as it was 4 months ago and still not fixed? Taur dogs, low to the ground, quick turning, lancers speeding around the screen and instead of making this even "harder" to pull off- you give us MORE action points??? Why, who thought of something like this. Let alone WHY hasn't this been fixed.
