I feel like a running list would be helpful, so please contribute any malfunctions you believe you have experienced with the trade broker in this thread, as well as any realistic recommendations for better functionality.
Also, if you have discovered workarounds for any of the issues below, please share them and I will include them in the running list.
List of Trade Broker Bugs(?):
1. No buy order functionality for any fish.
2. Guano is misnamed in the Buy Order interface as "Umbilica"
3. Red Bulbtip is misnamed in the Buy Order interface as "GreenBulbtip"
4. Buy order search requires removal of space characters. For example, finding "Granum Pile" requires that you search for "Granumpile."
4. The Pet Broker search feature only returns a small number of relevant results, not all relevant results
5. Equipment search feature only returns a small number of relevant results, not all relevant results
6. Equipment search feature does not query of the actual item name, so finding a specific piece of equipment is impossible unless you know the price and sort by price.
7. Sort by Category, Ascending/Descending - not even sure what this does?
List of suggested improvements:
1. Improve broker search feature to include more metadata from broker listings (item name, seller name, item properties).
- Filters for equipment values (filter for dura, slash/pierce/blunt damage, slash/pierce/blunt resist)
- Filters for trinkets (filter for trinket properties such as "raw str" and numerical values)
- Separate consumables into food and potions.
- Filter food/potions by their properties (direct heal > 5, age > 1)
2. Make stackable item sales a per-unit price and allow buyers to buy per unit.
3. Allow sorting stackable items by unit price.
4. Allow buy orders to be priced to 1/100th of a cuprum and round all payouts down (coin sink).
5. Allow the creator of a sell order to reprice their order without canceling it. Charge a fixed, nominal fee (5 silver) for price reductions, and charge the same broker percentage equal to the price difference for any price increases.
6. Similar to 5 above, allow the creator of a buy order to reprice their order without canceling it. Charge a fixed, nominal fee (5 silver) for bid reductions, and charge the same broker percentage equal to the price difference for any bid increases.
