Spears and swords can weakspot, but since mo1 all spear heads and handles have had a negative impact on the chance to do so. Makes material selection for head, handle and grip important to reach any sort of chance to get one.
Some handles + head combos will just have such a low chance that even with 5% clade, high dex and good weakspot materials you'll be under 0%
