The damage is too high especially when coupled with their long reach. Most specifically the triple spear which also does good damage when swung. Actually if the piercing damage was moved down close to the level of the swing damage it would make a solidly useful weapon and be balanced with other weapons.

iam a big fan of spears and also think that the piercing is a bit to high.

I love it like it is, finally a spear is as usefull as in the real medival. they were more usefull than swords and stuff in group fights.

Have you tried a tung triple spear? They are the main one that I have tried.
