Severe Issues with Bandits

There are a number of issues with Bandit AI that need to be addressed.

  • Bandit Casters ignore Reflect Magic
  • Bandit Casters ignore PSY; A veteran bandit caster will hit you for 72 with Flamestrike regardless of PSY. This means veteran casters potentially DPS you down faster than you can melee them. Two of them at once can pop you for 144 damage instantly with no chance to resist or lower the damage.
  • Bandit Casters cannot be interrupted by being hit OR WITH SPURT.
  • Bandits ignore being Corrupted to heal with bandages
  • Bandits have infinite bandages and use them on cooldown every 30 seconds while backpedalling faster than the average player's combat sprint. This means that if you are a mounted mage, the Veteran Bandit can sometimes heal faster than you can kill it with Fulminations while kiting it.
  • Ranger Bandits (note: This is not the Bandit Archer, it is a specific enemy unique to South-Eastern camps) are hitscan AI and never miss. There is no counterplay to them. You simply take a large amount of unblockable damage while fighting them. Newer players will just die outright due to DPS being too low. Two of them results in a scenario with a hitscan AI that chases you and can attack while moving making them arguably even more broken than Bandit Casters.
  • Bandit Casters are one of the only drop sources of Rock Oil, but drop it in very small amounts. This is not good for a resource that is not solo content and (potentially) cannot be purchased from a vendor on release.
  • AI still do not get equipment hits.
  • Bandit Casters are able to charge a spell, begin casting a new spell, and hit you with the previous spell while charging another spell. This results in extremely fast spellcasting that should not be possible.

Bandits should not be more difficult content than Risars. It is very silly that the Veteran Bandit is a more dangerous opponent than the Risar Commander. Please consider a balance pass on Bandits, they are severely overtuned.

Honestly bandit casters cause a lot of issues when grouped up. The larger camps can have 3-4 veteran and bandit casters clumped together so when you try to agro one you’ll agro all 4. I’ve been 100’d to 0’d in littetally secconds fighting bandit casters.
The issue is there’s just no counter play. I can wear better gear and go have an easier time farming risars for example. But there’s actually nothing you can do about a bandit caster attacking you since magic reflect doesn’t work and even if it did it wouldn’t stop the 4-5 spells instant killing you. if magic reflect worked and I could interrupt casters I’d be able to actually counter this

I can parry a veteran bandit and wear full steel. But there’s nothing you can do but take all the damage from a magic caster and hope they don’t all agro on you if you pull more than like 3

I forgot to mention, there's another issue with bandit casters. I've observed them charging Corrupt while I was out of LoS, and then begin charging Outburst. On a player, this would remove your charged Corrupt spell. However what happens is the bandit casts Corrupt on you while still charging the Outburst spell.

Bandits camps are also not worth the effort. Not enough loot to split with the 2+ people required to farm the camps.

Yeah, I got fulmed, outburst, corrupted, and spurt in the course of about 3 seconds once. This was from one veteran caster. I lived thankfully, but damn was it a close call!

Also yeh, I agree the rewards for bandit camps need to match the difficulty they will pose at release. They shouldn't just drop heads, but also silver, and veterans maybe a gold or something. They're people, they're bandits, they like money too :)
