Plz add no tower shields, or only as a very rare drop. They was so annoying in the first game.

As the thread says. I used Lionshields with Megnaton-Swords and Spears in MO1 and this Setup was OP. It was so hard to get hit. I think they should be a rare drop from Chests or the Boss of the Sator Dungen to limit the ammount of such Shields, or they should not be added to MO2. Mages with Towershields would be very annoying. If they are craftable they need to slow down the character a lot and need to cost tons of Stamina, or most shield Users would use an annoying Towershield or carry it inside the bag if they see a Mounted Player. Most Players could not be harmed from mounted Archers. Atm you can aim for the head of feet which is not easy at all.

Keep in mind shields dont block full damage like they did back in the day in MO1. Its just bonus mitigation. So like the arrow technically goes through your shield and then wherever it hits, it uses that armor part along with the shield. Also, bigger shields give worse parry stam. So I think its fine if they add them as long as they are balanced properly.

With how good MA is I'd be pretty happy wit ha giant shield on my back.

This was the only way to counter bows in MO1 and considering how better they are in MO2 I dont see the issue tbh. Good archers managed to hit my feetz anyways

True but shields from Ironwood + Steel are so strong, that you not get damage from arrows at all.
Mounted Archers are quite strong. I think SV should rather balance the horses. It is justified for an expensive armor to hold back a good ammount of damage, but I think the horses need a weak spot. You should deal significantly more damage to the Head Hitbox of the mount. I like to see things balanced and not countered through other Builds and Equipment.
A Towershield would totally counter the Moutned Archer.

While they ride on a hose and you are using a towershield ? I always had problem when i was riding on a mount and wanted to give players
precise headshots with marksmanship.
I was happy when I hit the player with the arrow while riding.

Maybe i am not skilled enough to give Players headshot while my mount is is running in circles. I will play a Footfighter.

Why shoudn´t the game be somethign for me ? In MO1 I played a Dominator with the Spiderqueen/Nitre Guardians and a Footfighter/Mc with a Lionshield. These Pets and the Lionshield were too powerful. I give only feedback about Mechanics that i have tested in MO1 and MO2. I once killed 3 Players the jungle becuase they all hit my shield. I am prety sure that i would have lost without this huge shield and my magnaton Sword.

Yes and people have won 1v3s just because they were an MA, or a fatmage, or in cronite, or that they were just flat out better. A false dichotomy is not going to justify nerfing a core feature of the game.

In MO1 Towershields coudn´t be crafted. It was a rare drop from Chests and they are not even ingame yet.
If these could be crafted in MO2, it would´t be a nerf for those player using them and yes they should be nerfed.
In my opinion, these should not be useless, but neither should they be overpowered and used situational. E.g. when building a manganon to protect the engineer from the hail of arrows by a shield formation as in the Roman armed forces. Shields do not count towards equipment weight in MO2. It would nerf the mages if they would and i think small and huge shields should both have their use.

Why would anyone use a small shield when the Towershield is superior in all categories ?

Tower shields were craftable in MO1. The special tower shields you're referring to could not but both craftable and special drop versions served the same purpose. Also, those shields obscured vision a bit so there's a con compared to smaller shields.

Random picture from Google. Those were craftable.

I actually support this towershield idea and I'm an MA
One thing that bothers me is the fact archers are pretty weak atm, I mean I got maxed out archery and everything needed and still I land 14ish dmg on players, with healers around etc its barely effective, so yeah if u buff the fighters u might aswell buff the archers too.

Basically you want bows to have no counter XD okay bub

A normal Shield is already a balanced counter. It is not very easy to hit the head on a moving player and especially if you are riding a horse. Hav eyou ever tried that ?

Yes I have, shoot the horse.

It shouldnt be easy shooting a bow while riding a horse. In what world is it "easy" to fire any projectile while moving accurately.
