KATANA hahaha. eat shit. I left all my steel ones at JC and haven't crafted a new 1 yet but even my throwaway cuprum katana charges SO FAST. I'm dedddd. If only parry wasn't wack. I don't really think it's that bad tbh, but yea it's gonna def make things crazier. Craft a tung katana and profit.

Spam the shit out of people.

Edit: however, I do agree that weps that are made out of trash mats and are light need to be slower, make it cuz of aerodynamics or something. Bone, stone, cuprum even should all be less sleek than steel. It should start at steel to get 100% swing, it should be way slower on bone. Kinda like prol bone/carapace armor weight should affect your stam more than steel

SV always over buffs things. Always. Every new thing they bring out is always OP af. Every balancing they do is always overcompensating. They dont do small, calculated adjustments. They always go overboard with it.
As long as they realize it was a bad change and do some sort of revert then its fine. Im ok with them testing out new things as long as they are not biased about it.

The bad thing about them testing out new things is that it hurts their players experience when such a bad patch happens. Every competent player at a glance of that patch note was worried over the lighter weapons swing faster. Just people wanted to try before they complained about it.

They really just dont care about the player experience. Big EU buff.

The sword spam isnt helping issues. If this benefited one handed weapons it would be good, because it would give a reason to choose a one handed anything over the 2 handed version.

What if they kept it and added more chip/pressure damage (thru parries) to heavier weps? Allow two types of play style. So people who wanna move and spam can do it and people who wanna just bang you out can do it. They also might wanna rethink the counter reduce defense relating to heavier weps so you can still get your lil pokes in there with a lighter wep but if you smash someone with the correct timing w/ an axe you get a better hit.

People are legit quitting the game though, man, and not just over the priest changes. Over just the wackness of combat. So, something needs to be done. Obv, I am half trolling when I say git fukt because I haven't tested it, but I'm not against favoring more aggressive playstyles. I just need to see more fights, engage in some fights, and they need to find a way to make slower swing weapons still impactful (hopefully with proper chip dmg.) So yea it does favor EU but high movement skill/feint play is still gonna be the ceiling. They just need to make sure they aren't rendering everything else obsolete.

THAT BEING SAID. Like you said, changes R good, let's test it for awhile n see. If it's trash, revert, but I think it could be built around.

@Hodo I assume you saw that PabloO vid but w/ a 1h vendor sword you can truly swing to hit and parry a charged incoming swing, reliably, even before the patch. The arcs on 1h are small. The swing of weps was pretty slow before. It's really just tough. Like I said, the game play is bad, but I dunno how to fix it. That they tried something IS GOOD. Makes me wanna try dueling a bit, and I've def been not doing shit in that department cuz I don't wanna work on morphology.

Apologies to everyone for massive posting, patches always get me riled up!

No I havent seen that video. But you could always parry and hit quickly even with a 2h 6kg sledge hammer. I have been retesting 1h weapons and they still have a LOT of issues.... and not really viable in a serious PVP situation where the meta is 2h great swords with a sprinkle of poleswords and spears.

Risars swing too slow now. Very very easy to fight them. Its not a big issue if a issue at all but most people enjoyed the harder risars as this game doesnt really have any challanging PvE.

Only the sword risars and maybe the 1h axe risars needed to be toned down a bit for the high pingers and when the server/netcode was working well.
