So we are here. Patch is coming soon. Party system. Maybe wasn't necessary before mastery / tasks, but now it is absolutely!
This is a big moment for SV. This could be something bigger than Sarducca imo if they do it right. The JOY of playing MO is the joy of playing with other people in a sandbox. And yes, I have almost always been a solo, so... irony, but I always kicked it with other people and tried to develop interaction.
This is what I think SV should do: As I said before, HEAVILY consider putting the game on sale for a small discount... like 40->29.99 and then giving people THREE MONTHS of sub + loyalty rewards or a cape or something. Remember when you did that supporter pack awhile ago? Same idea, but make it so that people who buy the new game get it. You need more than 1 month to decide about MO. It's just that simple. And the people who quit for real may give it another shot or may not.
Then, I think SV should consider two other things. I believe they should consider buffing clade gain or task rewards (like how you get quick rewards, maybe party rewards?) for parties. AT LEAST for yellows, but probably for everyone. Give people a track toward speccing up and encourage them to group as soon as possible, maybe even in Haven.
Speaking of Haven! The last thing I think is that you guys should really consider giving people an option to leave haven with your skills specced up to a certain level. I dunno how it'd work, but just let people go when they wanna go, or if they already did it and are remaking a char, let them move on. There are so many slow level up skills that make no sense. Like why does landing technique have to level up? It's a secondary. We want people with experience running down mountains? There has to be a better way. There has to be a way to make people feel like they are progressing without having them spamming up items / slashing npcs to level.
Maybe keep some of the advanced stuff like magic as some level of spam, but not like it is now, either. Taming, etc. But core combat abilities? Armor training etc, nah imo.
Def do the first part tho!
