I was thinking of some jokes like... they've come a long way since then, now they look at their troll timer and get on forum. 
Anyway, peep.
So, the troll is a resource that spawns ON A TIMER and it resists dmg, so it takes awhile to do as well.
There are people on this forum who have stated they don't like over geared zergs doing this or that, but if you consider systems built from, for instance, the troll and it being up on a timer, you can get a better idea about what gear is. Gear is your investment. You should honestly be able to buy people out by just overgearing them. Why? Because WAI if you kept doing it, they'd prol tell someone so they can get lootbags or zerg you and take the gear. That's the game play loop. The game isn't about 1v1 or even one fight. That's a cool aside. The real war, especially now with no siege, is of attrition.
NOW if you wanna talk about gear balance and the most OP gears being stupid, I agree. Or if you wanna say bone/carp armor is too good, I also agree. But if you come in like rep carp w/ a steel wep, a longbow, etc... and you get just out geared, your enemy just bought the W. You should have come more geared and taken their loot. Oh well, right?
