Yea, sort of. Depends where you play a lot. Also, the dismount mechanics are kinda shitty. Almost any melee with a club can dismount you, unless you have full balance. Arrows do little damage to steel. And people can just centre block your lance. Soft targets will be easy but heavy armoured ones will be tough, especially if they have a long bow.

I tried to change it up a little bit, making him viable as a footie. I’m good as footie so it would be dumb to not take advantage of that

Yea id say most full mounted builds almost have to have magic to get through heavy armor these days, otherwise finishing can be a pain. Most footies can heal a shit ton and long bows do a lot of damage to your horse. Its hard to win the dps race without either healing your horse or using magic against heavy armor.

Or like you said, dismount.
