Starvalt should not show a player's exact coordinates on the map.

Getting lost, finding your way and learning to navigate the world is incredibly fun. This fun would be ruined if you
could just open your map and see your exact location. It takes time to learn your way around Myrland. Navigating is a
skill that's very satisfying to improve over time. Just like your skill in combat.

Dark souls had no in game map and no GPS system. This made traversing the world very engaging. A huge part of dark souls was
learning your way around the world and the same can be said about Mortal Online 2.

The process of navigating Myrland is one of my favorite parts of Mortal Online 2.
I really enjoy:

• Exploring
• Finding new or alternative routes
• Getting lost and maybe finding my way.
• The risks involved with navigating. (This game is all about taking risks)
• When some shows you a new route or when you show some one a new route.

Can we just have one mmo that does not spoon feed you? Every MMO spoon feeds you all this information including your exact location.
Why does mortal have to be like every mmo?

Showing your current position on the map is the equivalent of removing combat pets from the game. Some people really
don't like combat pets. Does that mean we should just remove pets? No that's crazy! The same can be said about GPS.
Some people don't want to build their navigation skills. Should Starvalt just give these players GPS because they're
lazy and in the process ruin the fun for the current player base? No, of course not!

I'm missing something. Does the new Haven show your location? AFAIK henrik said we aren't going to see our location in the real map.

In the Mortal Online 2 - Sprint 3 PTR Feedback questionnaire there is a question that asks if you want GPS in MO2.

The map, both the actual digital world and the ingame map tool, are pretty big.
Even if they showed your location, you would still have to physically look at the map ingame, which obstructs a lot of your vision. What is wrong with letting people navigate using coords? I'd even argue the current ingame map and the online map tool are a lot less useful to players until they learn their basic navigational skills.

Having a map with coords gives players the confidence and feedback that, yes, you are going the right direction (in my opinion). This will help them build their navigation skills as they have to use the ingame map less and less. Make it a toggleable option, like in The Witcher III. It's easy for us to say new people need to learn the game in the hard way like we used to do. But is that really the right approach?

My personal bias in this post is that I'm a solo player that played MOI since 2012, when I was a figurative baby. Fucking love this game and its secrets to death. I'd love to get my friends into the game, but a couple of them have already given up due to the complexity of the game at the start. The latest patch gives me another chance to pitch the game to them, but stuff like map coords are a blessing to those in need of them.

At the end of the day, I believe that map coords are training wheels that assist the inexperienced and level the playing field in terms of navigation and map knowledge. Myrland alone too big to discover fully on one's own. And that's only the content that is released right now, we also have to consider the new continents when they arrive.

Love to hear what others think though!
Are live maps with player coordinates detrimental for the game? And if it is, in which ways?
