Hello, brand new I did not know this game existed until a couple days ago. I just saw a trailer for it so now I am here.

I wanted to be a tamer and breed pets, and sell them in my shop. I know I have a long road to go to get it put together, but I am here for the long haul.

I just have a couple questions as I see there isn't alot of info in game, so I have been trying to get some answers. First I was playing with what skills I should use. I wanted domination but I have read in a few places it is not working correctly. I just wanted to know will it be working soon, and if not should I take it?

Also I cant find anything on breeding anywhere. Can someone let me know what skills I need to train to be able to breed animals, or do you just put them together and "nature takes its course". Do you build a pen for the animals?

And one last thing. I have been trying to find info on player made shops, vendor areas. The trailer showcased a cool looking shop, so what do I need to buy for that? Or skills to train? How much does it cost to have a vendor at your shop?

Thank you in advance

Lol, dominated pets can't be traded. Domination is the same as taming just broken.

Theres no breeding and no player personal shop but there is a player broker in each Town.

Breeding isnt in game yet... coming "soon".

You cant have a vendor at your house or shop yet. You can sell pets on the broker and that is what most tamers do. Depending on the location and the market you can make pretty decent profit off of selling them.

For more information on taming and pets check out.

Its Robmo's Taming guide.

A lot of info you find online is from MO1. Things like domination, breeding, house vendors were in the old game but havent made it into the new one yet. They are “in the works” for MO2.

All you can do for now is level up taming and put the pets you tame for sale on the pet broker that each town has (usually close to the stable). Depending on what town you are in you can make a decent bit of money for high level pets/mounts. Small/dead towns wont sell much.

Wait, I don't understand. I found this game from watching a trailer a couple days ago on IGN.
It says there is breeding and shows a vendor shop and looks like there are tools for vendors.

Ok I was planning on using domination to get the pets to a breeding pen and letting them "breed"

Yup it does say that, but its a lie. Breeding mounts is on the list of things they will implement eventually, but its not in game yet. SV has always had a hard time with telling the truth.

House vendors are on the same list. As many many more features that were in MO1.

It’s going to take you awhile to level up your skills plus it’s expensive as a new player to get the books you need unless you have guildmates that will hook you up or escort you down to jungle camp. Then, outside of horses, good luck trying to tame terror birds on your own and making it back to a safe area alive. Maybe I’m wrong but I don’t see there being a big market for pets outside of tbirds and horses mostly. I’d bet most vets only have full tamers as alts, not as their main.

Well I guess I need to rethink things. That trailer really gave me high hopes, I kind of feel like I was duped. So seems a tamer is not a money making class, and there is no real trader or vendor tools outside of, roleplaying.

Its just a game dawg. You make it sound like a career. If you enjoy running around the world taming creatures then do so, but if you specifically are looking for a game that lets you make a business out of taming/breeding animals, then you might have to wait a few years for MO2 to implement that.
Then you have to hope that the population of this game will still be big enough for you to have customers, lol.

Currently you can tame and sell mounts in cities, and you can make some money at it depending mostly on how many other tamers are active there.

Taming is, and will always be, a side activity in this game anyways. The main focus is pvp and territory control.

If you feel like you were duped, you'r right. This company is notorious for false advertisement. For months after release they even had a page on their site about how many players the game can support, where they claimed an infinite ammount of players can join the "one server" and that their tech magically scales up.

In reality the servers can't handle more than 1500 concurrent players without major stability issues.

That trailer you posted also mentioned stealing. Yeah, that's not in the game at all and no roadmap or date is given for the feature.
So it's totally false advertisement.

New player sees trailer, is excited to do the things that the trailer says you can do.
Trailer turns out to be a lie. Absolute bollocks. FALSE advertisement which is even illegal.
Player is no longer excited about the game because, not only does it not provide him with his playstyle of liking, but he feels cheated and is wondering whether a few lies arent the only problems with Mortal Online.
Let's do something about this. What could we possibly do... oh, YEAH... Let's berate the new player telling him its only a game and not a career....

What territory control are you talking about?
Oh you mean just another feature that has no release date apart from "after project polish" and should have been in at launch?
False advertisement yet again. I get it, small dev team and all that but it's been more than half a year without any defined release dates or roadmaps that are more than just smoke and mirrors.

In the meantime Henrik spins tall tales about ships and carts. The only thing we got to judge SV on is past performance and judging by that MO2 is on the same train tracks as MO1, an objective failure.

SV should've held off on putting out the trailer this early until all of the missing features are at least in working order in the game first.

@Mad Jugger My suggestion is to learn and enjoy the other parts of the game first while they work on the missing features. If you plan on sticking around, that is.

For instance, stocking up food for your future pets (they will need quite a bit more food than the player does), levelling them up, and building up your reputation and renown as a tamer with the rest of the community.

That way, once breeding and domination comes, you'll be all set and ready to go rather than having to spend time doing all of the above.

Tamers absolutely are gold grinding classes depending on the pet and what you're killing for gold.

I mean some playstyles are just way better than others. I'd say stuff like crafting swords/armor/shields/potions/etc- most crafting professions are just for RPing and fun. The best way to make gold in this game is just selling raw resources. Taming and such is more of a RPing profession, I mean don't get me wrong you can certainly make some good gold doing it, but I mean let's say it costs 400g to get herding, adv cc, cc, pet training, and etc. Then you can tame and sell 4 horses at a time at about 30 minutes per a run for like 6g each, so like maybe 20-30g a run, so let's say 60g an hour maybe since horses are a finite resource. So it would take like 8 hours just to pay off your initial investment. Taming as a combat role also blows, just not worth risking a 200g pet to pvp or do pve when mounted archers can do the same but better while risking 10g. So yeah more of a larping class, i played as one for a while. Of course some people will mention like having a level 125 White Bear vs one melee player is so OP, but for every one time that happens 99% of the time three mounted archers absolutely demolish your pet and now you're out 500g

I smell... shit posting... HMmmmhmmmhmm...

It's a good vintage, too. Wow... This person eats lots of nuts; plenty of fiber.

Very earthy. A bit bitter... Just a hint of nutmeg.

It's exquisite.

Nice work OP.

People might not understand but that trailer was the release trailer that was supposed to come out in jan. All of those statements were for the jan release of the game not now.

Honestly SV prob had little to do with the trailer besides supplying the video and some marketing group that SV hired did the voice over.

They really need to make breeding better this time around. It needs to fit into the whole ecosystem more than replace mounts. We don't need a breeding system that is essentially a paid dupe. We need something that can help us adjust our horses and obviously get a few more, but the idea should be to get a good mount. I paid so many golds in MO1 breeding (I know you dudes know, get all your pets out and breed them, end up w/ o room for the babies sometimes hehh,) and I still made stupid bank. 2g was too low for 'a horse.'
