I'll be hosting a tournament sometime in the next 2 weeks. This thread is to help square away some of the details.

Established Part: This will be a 1v1 bracketed tournament. Each match is best 2 out of 3. If your opponent hits mercy mode you win. The winner moves on.

Tentative Rules: 5 bandages, 2 potions, all equipment materials must be sold at vendors (For instance ironwood, cronite, and tungsteel are banned), and only two weapons. Shields do not count as a weapon. Bows do.

Arena: There are likely to be established bounds of play or some other rule to prevent you from just running/trolling when your match is clearly lost but still allowing archers a bit of room to kite.

Losers Bracket?: There is likely to be a losers bracket with some chance at redemption if you rank highly in it. I'll give more details on this later but am open to suggestions.

Time: I'm thinking 6PM PST on a Friday but I'm open to suggestions. Saturday is a straight undoable day for me but if the support for Saturday is overwhelming I might still offer my prize and let someone else host.

Prize: If supplies allow the prize will be a set of full cronite armor with any 400 cronite or less weapon of your choice. Ironwood is available as well for hilts. That's why I'm pushing this out one to two weeks. I can't promise this will be the prize as of yet though. At minimum, I'll be able to provide the weapon. Donations of cronite and mats for cronite are appreciated.

JUDGES NEEDED

Every match must be overseen by an official judge. Judges are not allowed to participate in the tournament. The more judges we have the faster this will go. Contact me if you want to participate.

Bandages provide RNG healing, please get rid of any healing items. It was shown in MO1 that healing in 1v1 tournaments proved to be a prolonging to an already long fight.

Also, bows shouldn't be allowed. If I get someone near one shot with me being half HP and I pull a bow out to shoot an unblockable arrow, how is that going to be any fun for people watching / participating. It will happen.

Materials from the vendor is fine. Tournaments usually just did bone armor / steel weapons typically. But MO2 damage and mitigation values are different, as well as speed.

Prize is an indifference in an alpha of the game when it'll just be wiped. It's a nice touch but this is just going to be a bragging rights kind of thing.

Other then that, it seems okay.

Given we have nothing to do but duels and tourneys at this point I could break it into multiple categories.

Melee Vanilla 1v1 - 2 weapons, no healing items, no bows. Disqualified if you run from opponent for more than 5 seconds.

Winner can claim to be the best melee fighter in a tournament setting.

True 1v1 - 2 weapons, 10 bandies, 5 potions, bows allowed. The entire town of Kranesh is the play area with both combatants starting at the opposite gates.

Winner can claim to be the best at 1v1 that are more true to non-tourney gameplay with minimal rules.

Guild Teamfights - Per player: 2 weapons,10 bandies, 5 potions, bows allowed. The entire town of Kranesh is the play area with both teams starting at the opposite gates.

Winners can claim to be best at small group fights with minimal restriction.

No armor prize. Instead each type gets a stack of cronite. 200 for the 1v1 tournament 600 for the teamfight for a total of 1000 cronite in prizes.

1v1 tournaments are kinda pointless at this stage since everyone is already doing-so, You may aswell organize a 2v2 or 3v3 to get more teamplay combats involved.
The TTK for team-battles should also be faster.
