Henrik on stream talked about making incentives to get players (mainly mages) to wear light armors.
He tossed around having mage armors add possible a couple percent of focus buff.

Here is my alternative. (after reverting the mana regen while sitting change/nerf)

Reduce the regen of mages across the board naked. Increase the mana regen penalty threshold of armor weight to 4kg. Human will then be 6kg which opens hybrids and paladins up more to be playable. Then have the mage armors increase regen of mana rate while being worn.

Naked mages will be slightly weaker which is good as now they will seek out gear. If mages want to wear kalardian/splinted then they are not really that hurt as the threshold change puts them near where they were regen wise.

I also really suggest adding the jump threshold back as that is a major deterent for wearing any armor at all as a mage. Along with the linear stamina drain.

Henrik said yesterday that the threshold on armor weight is supposed to be 4 kg. Prob fixed next patch.

Henrik doesnt play the game so he doesnt really know whats going on. Some one else is game designing which is normal as CEOs do other things. Henrik just doesnt know how the game was supposed to be a lot of the time as well. On the stream to me it was more like he didnt know what the armor weight was supposed to be, not that it was supposed to be 4 or 2 kg.

Even then the part about having mage armors give mana regen % while lowering the naked base amount of man regen. Other wise you dont have a incentive to use mage particular gear over ranger particular gear.

Wouldn't surprise me if he didn't know the mechanics of armor weight. He doesn't have a good understanding of magic or well, a bunch of other things in game.

Adding mage armor that boosts mage stats would fix 99% of the issues with mages by preventing naked fat mages being too strong for what little they risk and by boosting actually geared mages in pve. But I know they'll never change it
