In many 1st Person PvP games, you can hold Left Alt and turn your head to look over your shoulder and see if someone's chasing you. The function basically frees your camera while you keep running straight so you can look around and be more aware of your surroundigs. It's realistic as it gets and I think it's needed here too since the game is 1st person locked.
